Have not seen these around for a while. Metric calibers with round nose bullets are just too cool.

6.5 Round Nose

That would be a hell of a little timber bull or buck basher in a 6.5 Swede.
I'm surprised these are available as most RNs have been dropped.
It's likely a limited run. They made a batch of the same bullet a couple years ago IIRC. Just waiting for a run of the 7mm 175 RN's. Have a few hundred of that one on hand but would like to get enough to not have to worry about it again.
I have a box of these and no 6.5 at the moment. I would trade for 30 cal ballistic tips if anyone is interested...
Wonder how a 6.5 CM would shoot them. May just have to find out. Thanks to "ned" for the tip.

FWIW here's on of the comments on them in the CM:

"Favorite hog bullet (so far) for hogs using my 6.5CM 20" BA Barrel 1:8TR Getting 2505FPS using 42.2gr of IMR4350. When these became available I purchased another 400 rounds. Hornady changed the box size. It's about 25% larger box which makes storage an issue."

$39.99 PER 100.........for an "F"ing Round Nose.....i guess Hornady thinks they are Nosler now.........yeah uh huh...

Someone found a pallet with 3 inches of dust on it in the back of the warehouse.

It can happen whistle
I saw a bullet test one time that included these and they under-performed on penetration and weight retention, compared to more standard spire point bullets.

IF it was a reliable bullet.

I have zero interest in a 6.5 bullet that weighs 160 grains! YMMV

I'm perfectly happy with the 120-143 bullets and see no need for a 160 gr bullet.
I used to load them for a 18.5 inch barreled Swedish Mauser ... seemed to work well on a couple of Whitetail.... I don’t remember the exactas, been 2 decades ago .. but Im positive all taken were within 100yds... ..
They are some many more .264 bullets offered now ...I’d lean toward 140gr fodder now

Thanks for posting that Mathman. JB's post surprises me. I fully believe him but am shocked at the lack of reliability in the bullet.

I'm a fan of Round Nose and High Sectional Density bullets...

I have used the 160 grain RN Hornady on several deer.....

I was not impressed with it...

I have used the 140 SP and the 129 grain SP from Hornady... I am definitely a fan of those..
they worked... the 160 RN was marginal despite what one would think.

I read somewhere, the 160 round nose is known for bad performance it’s not the best bullet. Like you I think the 129 is hard to beat, the 140 is always been a accurate bullet..
I bought a box of the 160 RN's the last time they did a seasonal run. Don't know why, as I already have a great 160 load in Woodleigh PPs over H1000 for my 6.5-06 Imp. If I had a Swede, though........
I have done 156 gr 6.5 Fusions I’m planning to load for 6.5x55 “heavies” . Great price as they were either pulls or blems.
