The mountain rifles were short. Classics were long.

That’s a real beauty T! Those older model Mtn rifles can’t be beat.

They made them in both long and short action. I know because I have owned one of each. The long action was a special run for a company I can't think of right now, it wasn't Lew Horton but same type of deal.

Well, this one is a short action, which is plenty for this cartridge.

I haven't hunted deer in 15+ years being 80 years old. BUT , if i did want to deer hunt, this would be about as good a deer rifle as you could ever want. Bump it up for a really nice rig.
