You folks like to buy and sell. I hope none of you are involved with these auctions.
A friend of mine won an auction 2 weeks ago and paid seller by PO. Seller has not shipped pistol, but has recently listed 7 more guns for sale. One is an old 45 acp with this in the description. Remington Rand 1911 A1 serial # 1441119. So I used Duck Duck Go. Turns out the 45 is for sale on Guns America. With the exact same pictures as our Gunbroker seller used.
Talked on the phone to the Guns America seller Saturday. He sold the 45 the day before.
Contacted Gunbroker by email. We will see what happens. Auction number. 903035923

https://www.gunbroker.com/a/feedback/profile/6682419I would have been cautious with only two ratings.

I emailed gunbroker about a suspicious seller and got a response very quickly, even though it was 6am on Sunday. They had the seller shut down within 30 minutes. Thanks for the heads up and good luck to your friend!

Got automated response from GB. Wait and see what happens.

Sorry about your friend.
Isn’t a “verified seller” an EBay thing?
I’m pretty cautious on gun broker these days if the seller doesn’t have at least double digit all positive ratings.
A couple months ago, I bought a rifle from a seller on Gunbroker who had no feedback, just joined. Of course, red flags were waving everywhere but I figured I would sort it out after the auction, I only found it right before it was set to expire and it was a hell of a bargain if it was for real.
I was doing my due diligence before I sent money anywhere although he was pressing me to send it. I found on the rifle on GunsInternational at a reputable gunshops listing. Called them and they had the rifle in hand. The gunbroker seller even used the description from the Gunsinternational ad.
Anyway, I sent Gunbroker multiple emails detailing the fraud and I have yet to receive any response from them. I never did send money or anything else and it all just went away.
Phil
Phil, the reason I posted this was to raise awareness.
I’ve spent around 20 k on GB. So far things have worked out well for me. Only had to send back one gun, it was in rough shape.
Seller returned my money.

I appreciate the heads-up. It seems like this garbage is more prevalent than ever.
Thankfully, I've never been bit, athough there have been numerous attempts. Had one last week on shotgunworld. I'm running a WTB ad and a guy with broken English and bad grammar had the exact shotgun I was looking for, lol. I reported the PM and they had the guy's account shutdown with an hour.

I looked at his other auctions. He’s a fraud. His description style differs from item to item, as does his photography style. I copy and pasted one of his item descriptions into google and found this classified ad in Texas:
https://waco.texasguntrader.com/cat...922126/Wilson-Combat-Tactical-Elite.htmlCompared to the GB ad from the guy in question (from GA):
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/903037100Same-same. Hard to believe that GB won’t shut him down.
A fool and their money...
Read what the guy, who gave him an A+ rating wrote.

GB doesn't care about unscrupulous sellers. As long as they get their fee, the seller is always right.
BIG RED FLAG is he will take PayPal.
19 years on GunBroker and I quit dealing on there this year. Too much BS, tax, high fees.
Fix his ass by bidding on all of his auctions or if he uses buy it now, use that option. Then leave his ass hanging with auction fees. Being he’s a scammer, I doubt if he will report a non-paying bidder. Unless he’s an idiot too,
He should go away on his own or GunBroker will surely end his account for not paying auction fees.

I was thinking the same thing. Would keep a few folks from losing money.
Sent several emails to Gunbroker, no response yet. Looks like it’s not a very well run outfit. Hasbeen
Seems GunBroker is becoming the new ArmsList
I've sent them number e-mail about scamsters and no reply. Probably the same guy referenced above. I've found numerous high end rifles that he's listed and copied straight from GunsInternational listings. Crops the pictures and uses the exact verbage.

100% guaranteed without a doubt a scam. Hopefully your friend only got stung on the $500 pistol and not the $3150 one.
Most of his listings show extremely different backgrounds. That's the DEAD giveaway with these things.
Gunbroker seems to be really [bleep] the bed on "verifying" their sellers, either they aren't actually doing any investigation, or are accepting fake or stolen documentation . All the scammers moved off of Armlist since they now charge buyers AND selllers to send messages on the site, which basically killed it completely. This issue is here to stay with GB until they decide to ACTUALLY do something about it, to their own and honest sellers detriment.

These auctions were listed after my friend won his. Yes the background is a dead giveaway. I’m surprised and disappointed Gunbroker has not made any kind of move. Hasbeen
Will Gunbroker make good on the sale like Ebay will ?

So basically you are on on your own on Gunbroker ?
This "verified seller" is a scammer, all of his photos are lifted from a Canadian FS site.
https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search?IncludeSellers=4706121Its disturbing since I had considered GB one of the safer sites, but they're doing nothing about it (I contacted them). Say what you will about ebay but they're very pro-active with fakes and scammers.
I've never been burnt on ebay close a couple of times but never burnt.
Thank you for the warning. I've had nothing but good luck on GB over the years, but this is a good reminder to do my due diligence.
You can’t post any feed back with an iPhone or iPad. You can’t even see the sellers FB. My friend came by this morning and used my wife’s HP to post negative feed back. Hopefully this will save the bidders on the 7 auctions he’s running at this time. No response from Gunbroker. Hasbeen

Yes, you absolutely can. You may be running an old version or simply not have your settings configured to do so. I use my iphone 95% of the time, and I assure you that all of the above can be done from an iPhone.

Good to know. I was afraid folks using an iPad would not see the negative feed back. Hasbeen
I never buy from an NR. I want to see at least 25 A+ ratings and 100 is better.
GB don't care about your money nearly as much as you do. Watch your own ass.
Top one more time for those who may have missed it.
