For sale Dodge power wagon 400.This truck was owned by a local rural fire dept. Options include roll up windows, 4 wheel drive, manual transmission, duals, 4.56 gears, and some blinking red lights. Oh and I almost forgot the siren. This thing goes down the highway like a dream, no vibrations or drift. Everything is tight and the tires obviously don’t have many miles on them. Campfire special $9,999.00

Pm for phone number or more pics. Free delivery available, possibly.

Man, I'd love to have that "just cuz". Since they had discontinued the 440 (and I assume 400 c.i.) motor before 1979 does that have a 360 in it?

It does have a 360.

Thinking of going this route if I keep it.

You won’t be passing to many gas pumps with that 360 and 4:56 gears.

Nope but you could top Wolf creek pass carrying a ton of coal in 4th gear!

I ran a long wheel base Dodge dually like that with a 360 as a flatbed dumptruck for years. it was truly a great truck.
Posted By: paguy Re: 1979 dodge 8500 miles - 05/14/22
That thing is cool as hell. Those 360's are a great motor. With a little head work and the right cam will put all the power you want in that rig.

Oh baby...... If it ended up with me, it'd end up as you pictured with a flat bed.

Oh the memories....when a truck was a TRUCK, no frills. I "had" a '78 with 360, 4 speed with 4.10s. Originally a Department of the Interior truck (probably park ranger). Bought with 11,450 miles at auction for $1075.00 including buyers fee in 1985. Had fixed front end (no locking hubs). Truck could pull a frigging house of the foundation I think. Factory am radio made it all of 15 minutes when I got it home. Girlfriend loved how far back into "nowhere" we could get for "night-time" activities.

Sure wish I could have it back......simpler days. Thanks for letting me reminisce all over your post.

GLWS 222ND. Be safe.

This truck ever sell?
Posted By: 222ND Re: 1979 dodge 8500 miles - 08/27/22
One person showed up to look at it. And it was my retired boss. We made a deal for him to come back to pick it up in a week and in the meantime his transmission went out on his JD4430. 18000 dollars to fix that tranny kind of 86ed our deal. I was just over at hay coulee trucking (local truck and fabrication shop)yesterday talking to him about a flatbed and a hoist for it. I’ve got a 76 ford high boy for sale that came with a boss plow and if I sell the ford the plow is going on the dodge and I will keep it. That truck with a plow and dump bed would be pretty handy to have around.

What's the story with the 76 hi-boy? You stated for sale as well?

Already sold, pics price?

Thanks
