Is that the one you killed the griz with?
Damn shrapnel that’s pretty nice , looks like the wood has been refinished at one time but doesn ‘t look like the metal has been touched for a take down of that era it’s been babied. I wonder if you picked thst up at the collector show in Billings. I have a saddle ring carbine in that cal. I inherited from my maternal grandad , Made in 96, think it was first production of that caliber, you would know. It’s a grey old lady as most of that era . I know it spent many a day in a saddle scabbard rack of sleigh hay rack and buggy cause as late as 1950!I saw it there while helping gramps bring in hay with the team
Tom and Nellie. I loved that gun but rarely got to shoot it. But by god I inherited it and now 103 or so years after gramps bought it new in Bottineau N D I shoot and have taken an antelope or two with it. Something about those old guns , they just seem to speak to you especially when you know their history like this old beauty. Wish I.needed it and could afford Don Chase, Mike Chase’ s uncle.
The bore is real good. I shot deer and antelope with it. This picture shows what I got and why these other rifles are up for sale…
This is a real nice old original gun in good condition...
