This is a nice original 1894 in a rare and desireable caliber and configuration. It has a good bore and it is tight when assembled. There is a lot of original blueing on the gun, including the receiver, which is uncommon on so many older Winchesters. It was made in1905 and most definately used on the late frontier in the west. This is still an affordable way to own a real Winchester in a scarce caliber...$1999.00

Damn shrapnel that’s pretty nice , looks like the wood has been refinished at one time but doesn ‘t look like the metal has been touched for a take down of that era it’s been babied. I wonder if you picked thst up at the collector show in Billings. I have a saddle ring carbine in that cal. I inherited from my maternal grandad , Made in 96, think it was first production of that caliber, you would know. It’s a grey old lady as most of that era . I know it spent many a day in a saddle scabbard rack of sleigh hay rack and buggy cause as late as 1950!I saw it there while helping gramps bring in hay with the team Tom and Nellie. I loved that gun but rarely got to shoot it. But by god I inherited it and now 103 or so years after gramps bought it new in Bottineau N D I shoot and have taken an antelope or two with it. Something about those old guns , they just seem to speak to you especially when you know their history like this old beauty. Wish I.needed it and could afford Don Chase, Mike Chase’ s uncle.

The bore is real good. I shot deer and antelope with it. This picture shows what I got and why these other rifles are up for sale…
