Yes, it's a good read since John writes about shotguns and upland game bird hunting just as well as the 'big names'. In fact, on our too infrequent UGB hunts, I routinely pester him to write more about good doubles, wild birds and our hard working 4-legged companions. I highly recommend his books "Shotguns for Wingshooting" and "Western Skies - Bird Hunting in the Rockies and on the Plains"!

I've been hunting with sxs's for 65 yrs, while I've tried semi-autos, pumps and O/U's I can find anything that kills game like a sxs for me.

With the shotgun barrels on my drilling, called into 44 yards.
