I have a pair of Cabelas binoculars from about 10 yrs ago and need to have them repaired. Any clue who made them around that time frame?
I believe this was Meopta.
Depends on model. Can you post a pic or give more of a description?
Certainly could be meopta as it was during the time they were making the euro instinct line.

Agreed! I have 10x42s and they were made by Meopta.
It could be Meopta or one of several companies.
About the time i got mine.

Does it have a gold badge on it saying “euro” ? ( best i can remember )
They are not the Euro model. I’ll have to take a picture when I get home. Appreciate it guys.
They're Japanese IIRC.
I think this could well have been pre-Meopta.
Found this interesting article from our own mule deer which states that the Cabela’s - meopta relationship began in 2005.

However, the OP says they are not the Euro model so while the timeline works, it’s unlikely that they are made by meopta.
I thought Steiner made several house brand binos for them......pre-Meopta.
You need to post pics and/or more info as Cabela's used a number of suppliers, depending on the model. Meopta would have been the supplier of the Euro and Euro Instinct, and whoever the Chi-com is that makes lower end Vortex supplied some, as well as others.
Meopta made binos for Cabela's from 2009 with the last shipment being 2018.
I have pictures now but can’t seem to get images to load in gallery.
Ok I have a couple photos in an image gallery here.

Pretty sure those were the Made in China imports , Arent worth the hassle of getting repaired

Time to upgrade
They were pretty good I thought. Bummer if they are Chinese.
If you got 10 years use out of them you did good!
I've got their Japanese model in 8x42. Bought them at least 20 years ago. At that time they were around $500. I had a tough time making myself spend the money but after 20 plus years of a lot of use they're still going strong and the optical quality still seems better than average.
I have a pair of Cabelas Alaskan Guide Series 10X42s that are 20 y/o. When I researched who made them, the best info I could get was that they were made buy a Japanese optics firm that contracted to build glass under different brand badging to whatever specs were designated. When I called Cabelas, the answers I got were very sketchy...I got the feeling that they were purposely being very vague.
The optics on that bino is incredibly good, btw. I also love that the focus is click adjustable. Others hate it.
I still pack them as backups to my premium glass.
I had a pair of the cabelas Big Sky binoculars (made in Japan) that were as good as any binocular I have owned

Cabelas to me is now the Walmart of the hunting industry
Damn near everything they sell is made in China
Yeah it’s a shame. I wonder if they would still honor their lifetime warranty? Lol
