My old eyes cannot take advantage of the busy reticles. I have heard/read good things about Arken scopes. A dealer that I know, puts them on the same quality as Athlon.
Truly. I've not used any Arken's scopes so I can't say anything about them aside from what you said.

I like the inner "dot" and plex.
I prefer closer spacing on the outer bars (~3-3.5 mils left/right) and them being solid all the way in. I'll never need that much windage but closer outer bars often helps me in low light and broken backgrounds. Still looks like a usable reticle.
I have a couple of the Arken SP4 scopes and have been very happy with them so far. Took me a very short bit to get used to the reticles, but now I'm pretty tuned in to them. Tracking is accurate and return to zero is very good. A very good zero stop system also....
Got one or ten on order yet? Not exactly a lightweight, but not heavy either. I might need one for my RRA Coyote rifle since it is not exactly light either.
I have better than a dozen of said reticle in 16x 34mm and it's Skookum. Gonna be tough to beat Athlon Gen2 2-12x mannerisms, with both locking turrets,10yd parralax, illumination and 35+ Mil's on the erector. I have them in double digits too. Hint..................
I will get one. The non locking windage doesn’t matter since it’s capped. I do like the pop up style turret on the athlon. I just haven’t warmed up to it’s reticle but I haven’t spent much time with it either. 90% or more of the shots I take are with a MQ reticle and I guess that’s what I’m used to now. I would love nothing more than to see swfa make a few slight changes and I wouldn’t be looking anywhere else for a scope.
For anyone who has ordered one of these new models, is the Combo Pack worth the extra $40? I may need rings anyway, but was leaning toward the Burris signatures with inserts. Wonder how this will compare to a new to me Helos 2-12x that I really, really like so far.
It's simply a Global Economy and both Arken and Athlon shoot clean,on the who, what, when and where...while Burris,NightFarce,Reupold and the like do not. Hint.
Though I actually shoot, which GREATLY skews things. HINT.............
They say Japanese glass, but is the scope manufactured in Japan? I’m not seeing country of origin in the specs.
China.
Drat.
I hate China too and look for "Made in USA". Hunt around and you can find a video. Taken at the Shot show, one of Arken's main guys being interviewed about the then new EP 5-25 scopes. Arken has it's own manufacturing facility in China and gets ED lenses from Japan for that scope, they didn't just have some Chinese scope company making them. Those 5-25's are very nice to look through, also big honkers. Helluva deal at that price. I also have an SH 6-24 which I'm thinking has Chinese glass but is also a really nice scope, and a great deal at the current price. Now this new EPL series has Japanese ED glass and a Burris Signature - sized 30mm tube, at a very good price. Being a bit nicer size and with higher end glass than the SH scopes, they should be popular. I'm waiting on one. Great company to deal with....email them and get a response almost immediately.
Everyone who competes in long range practical rifle, PRS, or simply wants the best optic to engage and put impacts on small targets waaaaay out there is using a $300 POS on their precision rifle.

You were close you shriveled old fuggg. I’m 6’2” and 220. You’re close to me in west Texas. You want to meet for lunch and discuss it?

When I read this post, I’d have bet money he was talking about Little Stick. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I got suckered in. I got one on backorder I guess we shall see how it goes. I also got a 6-24 SH4 for my 22 lr and a 4-16 for a 22-250. Not exactly needing super robust or lightweight for either of these particular rifles. The new EPL is gonna go on a 300 WSM that currently has a 2-12 Helos on it so we shall see.
