We have tried a few times before but school, bad weather and our stand site getting flooded out always seemed to throw us a curve ball. BUT, everything came together yesterday evening! She used her mid 1960's 6mm Rem with Barnes 80 gr TTSX loaded over a max charge of IMR 4350.
Sow weighed 185 pounds on my digital scale.
She said I want to do this again! We had a great time together as you can tell from that smile.
That's great Sako! You can tell she's a proud girl.
My son got his first bear in September while hunting with grampa.
Congrats to you and your daughter, her smile says it all, and with my favorite 6MM cartridge no less !!!!!!!
Looks like that poor sow took one through the ear holes???????
P.S. Good job by the young lady!!!!!!
Congrats to the young lady.....
Congrads to The Young Lady!
That smile tells a great story. Good on her. Good on you for putting in the hunting time with her to get her bear. Her comment of, lets do this again ,means she had a great time with dad.

Okie, no it's an early '60s Rem 700 BDL with the squared off safety. It shoots dearly we'll and it is her favorite rifle.
Thanks for all the support guys. She is reading every reply.

Funny, LOL, THANKS Dave! The Bear was taken in Eastern N.C. She loves all the replies and keeps saying that she can't believe she got her first bear after multiple tries.

I looked back to the OP and saw that you had clearly describe the rifle. Not sure what is your daughter's first name, but I would add "Dead Eye" as her nickname.

Congrats to her! It took me 4 tags worth of hunting to collect my first black bear, so she must be doing it right.

Well done, congrats to the both of you.
Doesn't get any better than that.
Congrats.
Outstanding!
My son shoots my old 1974 vintage 6mm Rem 700 BDL. It's good to see those old rifles still in use. And my goodness, that 6mm Rem can deliver!
Congrats to you and your daughter. Well done!

Like. Congratulations to you both.
That’s great, I’ll never kill one. She is doing alright!!!
Nice bear, big smile.
Memories are made of this.
I love bear meat but only if they had been feeding on acorns and berries. They make excellent hard salami
Our bears live on corn and soybeans and acorns. Excellent roasts and sausage. Thanks all. Check out the bullet picture. Crazy penetration.
