I want to share a picture of a 80 gr Barnes TTSX 6mm that we found while butchering my daughter's bear today. She shot the bear facing us just as the sow put her head down. Bullet entered the flat part of the skull and apparently continued on through the neck. We found the bullet in the upper part of the shoulder close to the neck. What a wicked little round. The back of the skull was destroyed and that little rascal kept on digging. I would not believe it if I did not see it. I think velocity is ~ 3300 fps with 4350 but I have not chrono'd it yet. Here is a link to the bear kill picture and a picture of the piece of crap TTSX that lost its petals. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...er-first-black-bear-rem-6mm#Post12406105

Impressive. I really need to try some of these in my .243.

Head shot was a good idea. I knew a guy in Cali that guided for bear with his hounds in the San Bernardinos and a client brought a .243 along. The dogs got on a bear and had it bayed up in a couple hrs and we're fighting it. When they got to the bear they couldn't believe how big it was 800# plus. Nick let the client shoot the bear in the back of the neck in the spine and the bear didn't flinch. It took one shot from Nick's .44 in the head to finish it before it killed the dogs.

Some may say there is no such thing as an 800# black bear but look at the ones killed in the San Bernardinos

That's the bullet I'm going to use when I get my 6mm Rem project going.
