Just came back from RSA and did want to post a little Porn from my trip until I get all the pics and details together. Shot Kudu, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Jackel, Gemsbock, Zebra, Warthog and another Impala.
Nice pictures. Post the rest soon.
Nice warthog and that's a heavy Kudu. Way to go...
What brand and caliber of guns used.
Those are some nice animals. It looks like you had a great trip--congratulations!
I used a SAKO A7 in 308 Win with Leupold VII 3-9X40 scope. Ammo was federal 165gr TSX. I also took a TIKA T3 Lite in 270 Win with 6x Leupold with 150 gr Horn handloads. The TIKA was not used.
Less info, more pictures... for now!
Well Ed, so far it looks like you had a good trip.
Good for you.
Ed-Nice work! Give us more.
Ed, congrats on a very successful trip. Now, on with the pics!

Congrats! Looks like you don't need a big magnum for plains game. Just shot placement and a premium bullet seem to do the trick.
Good job and congratulations. I am looking forward to the photos and narrative
Randy
Both very nice animals. You did good!
Good start! Now, lets see and hear the rest of your hunt.
Very cool! Looking forward to the rest of your story/photos.
that is a killer warthog...congrats and bring on the pics!!
Great job there Bama - I would imagine that smile has turned into a perma grin! Very cool indeed...
Wow Ed,
Looks like you had a great trip. Great Warthog there! The thing about warthog is that they can never be too small or too far. Man, you gotta love shooting 'em
Best Regards

Marius, my 2 favorite plains game I took in RSA, in 2008 was blue wildebeast and WARTHOG! Love hunting warties. Matter of fact, my son and I leave for Zim, for a DG game hunt, in late July. The only extra critters I might consider shooting, besides my buff and cow ele, would be a big wartie, or a bushpig.

Nice hog. That beautiful ivory in a darker corner of the man cave, and professionally lighted, will start a conversation every time.
Good going!

Looks like your Juistzoo outfitter put you on them. That was the same place I took my first trio of wartie, impala and kudu. I had heard that your kudu bases were big and the rumor was right!
Two stinking pictures? WTF?
Pony up the Africa Porn....I have a year to go, before I get to go back!
I'll get there in a day or so. I am currently out of town attending graduation of two grand daughters. thanks for being patient.
Glad to see someone else realizes the 308 plenty for most plains game. I just returned too, got a Kudu, Waterbuck, Impala and a Warthog, the warthog was a juvenile, but due to the weather (overcast, cool-cold, windy, etc,) the only one we saw with teeth so we took it, but will have to go back for another one..
I used my own handloads with the 150gr bt TTSX bullet, in front of 45.5 grs of A4064. Chronographed the load when I got back (scope had went south on the gun, due to someone at the range knocking it over, and not telling me), so only had time to get the rifle resighted with this stuff..anyway, chrono shows 2650fps, and I discovered I had the scope set on 4x so turned it up to 7, first 3 on 4x in 2" 2nd 3 on 7x, in less than an inch..I'd have shot 5 per group, but wanted some of the ammo to use this fall..
My rifle was my Winchester 88..
I'd post some pictures, but don't know how. Let me know and I'll get them on.
