Charging at eight yards and with a double...

PS: hunting with a "hot chamber" and safety on smile
Wow!

Nice bull. I like the boss, unusual.

8 yds. with a double. Need details on that one.

DF
Heym 88B, 450/400. I poached the picture and story from Accurate Reloading.
Did they give inches?

Great trophy, gun and story.

DF
Right between the eyes
No, but I'm betting he's 40" and the bosses are marvelous
Wow!
Exit wound?
Yeah. Under its tail.

Badass.
Probably not. Even if a solid was used. Assuming full in line penetration, the round is probably in the grass laden stomach(s)...
Nice, glad the old Chap held tight under pressure. cool
Yep, not a lot of wiggle room at 8 yards.

Tight sphincters... shocked

Positive pucker factor... blush

DF
You bet Buddy, ass STOMP rapidly approaching, no FU'ps! smile
Why did it charge? Crappy 1st shot? Lion wound? Snare on his leg?
Outstanding!

I don't know, but do know one thing by studying the anatomies of the Cape Buffalo before my hunt, anytime you're messing with an animal that either one of his testicles is four times larger than his brain told me there is NOT a lot of reasoning reserves in a beast like that.

They fight, screw and eat, they can see right off you're not a girl or nice patch of grazing grass, guess that just leaves ass-kicking. smile
Great shooting, hope he had a spare pair of shorts in the Rover! That would make a great Euro mount, with that big 'ol bullet hole right between the eye sockets.

I had too deal with a charge once. Elephant cow. She was pissed. I shot her sister? Cow and she went bezzerk trying to sort me out. Had my Searcy .500 Nitro. 570 gr. Knyoch Woodleigh solids.

Agree. Buddy of mine has a bear skull - he put one right in the head of that bear, and the skull looks terrific! Quite a conversation starter, bear skull with bullet hole! A buff would be even better!

This is a 41.5" my bud shot earlier this month in Zim, using his .416 Rigby RSM. Tough to guestimate measurements from photos.

Both will make pretty mounts.

Jorge, for those of us who haven't had the privilege to go after Buff, how do they measure the spread?

Bad azz, boys. Bad azz!

Congrats on those fine buff to you both.
This is how SCI does it.

Both SCI and Rowland Ward. They both use the outside spread for measurements.

Great looking Buff bosses!

I'm guessing about 6 inches, once they cleaned my pants. smile

If I ever (unlikely) get to Africa, I want a Kudu, a Buff, and a Leopard. I'd die happy during or after...

Rowland Ward!
8 yards will make life stimulating quickly.
Bullet hole between the eyes and great hooks. Couldn't ask for better.
