While you guys were nursing your hangovers, we got ready for the last concrete pour on the patio and walkways. Gotta beat the heat, gunna be 106 today. We'll be ready to start on the landscaping when the last of the concrete is down. It'll be very satisfying to get this behind us next weekend so we can put the lawns in.

Exciting to make it all come together.👍

Looks like it is coming along really well and professionally.
I dont drink.
So the azzhat just flows naturally outta me at times.
Joy juice made it even uglier at times back when.

LOL!!!

It is. It's been working after work and on weekends for 5 months now. Unexpected surprises like needing to install a new drainfield slowed us down but we're knocking it out. I try to do something every single day. It pays off if you stay with it.
106...wow, that's for real. Hasn't been that hot here yet. I didn't know it even GOT that hot in Oregon.

Nice looking work. I just et early lunch and then out to the hayfield in awhilst.

We're doing some very heavy duty work right now but there's always maintenance when that's done. Weed spraying, lawn fertilizing and mowing. We're going to dig alot of our own plants this fall so I'm trying to get all the irrigation and soil amendments in before Septemeber. We're trying to think of everything and do it right as we go so it's one-and-done. May not get much hunting in this year but it'll be worth it.

Can't believe the cost of trees these days. What I used to buy for $40 costs $175 now.

I don't know where you reside, but I wish it wasn't so hot here. Summers can get brutal.
Looks great. You got skilz.

Oregon is a fairly dry heat at least it has been on all the forest fires I've been on there. Kind of like a blow-dryer to the face.

106 degrees in Louisiana is a bit more like molten lead.

Roy... how much is concrete running in Oregon nowadays?
Posted By: logger Re: Before breakfast today - 07/26/20
I have a relative that is a concrete pumper in Medford. Due to the heat his jobs have been starting at 5:00 am.

We timed the last one around a cold snap, but I am concerned with the heat for a next weekend pour. We'll pour early if we do.
Always nice to get the flatwork done. I poured my last bit a few weeks back. Only have some small stuff coming up for some barnyard water repairs and some concrete fenceposts!

One less thing on the list! Woohoo! grin

I don't see doing much the rest of the day here in this heat. Maybe go for a ride and shoot some handguns.

Did residential and commercial flatwork down Bozeman for 7 years. I miss the people but do NOT miss the work!

Hard on your hands, elbows, shoulders, knees....

Back to reality...

Sitting on the edge of a hay barley field letting the swather cool off. Dirty radiators...

20 acres down this morning, gonna try for another 20 and then go start working on tomorrow's hangover.

Oh, gotta mow the show lawn when I get home...🏡

Nothing says swamp like an 82° dew point.

Are you putting rebar or wire reinforcing in the concrete?

Yes, I am going to pick away at the rebar morning and evening around the high temps and get it done by next Saturday.

Nice of you to chime in on our little home improvement thread. I have no doubt you will continue to add sarcastic irrelavent and pointless comments, as it is your custom to do. You bring so much to the fire, I wonder how we were able to make it along without you?

Too hot to go shooting by choice......

Went and got a pack of smokes.
Been watching 2019 NFL games mostly.
^^^^^^^^^^^^
The Horror........

Bout 70 in the mancave.
Open and close the vents every so often.
Went outside to smoke a ciggerette, looked at the grass in the back yard, chuckled a little bit about that.

Khan will do her OCD werkly front yard mowing when the sun gets down lower I'm betting...

Gotta feed the cheesehounds around 5 530.
They are bagged out on the floor and couch right now.

Pretty rough here today......

LOL!!!

Fireballz,

That looks great.

I'm happy for you.

Looks good, do you put fiber in your concrete pours. I found fiber makes good concrete better! Its about 7 bucks a yard extra! We are only going to be 91 here on the dry side today!

I have a concrete guy friend that helps me on pour day, he's calling the shots. Should I ask for it? What are the benefits?

Hard to know if you're serious or kidding.

Oh wait, I can't believe I just typed that. Duh. Of course you're not serious.

Why would you say something nice, all you've been doing is making fun of our projects and saying things like I'm pissing off my neighbors because it's not getting done fast enough. You're not very consistent all of a sudden. Maybe you should get checked for the balogna virus? I hear it's a thing in FL.

But in the waaaaaaay off chance you actually just complimented our progress, OMG Travis, thank you so very much, that means so much to myself, my wife, our whole family, our neighbors, and the greater community at large. You have literally just brightened all our day, and made today just a little more worth living. You and your stamp of approval have really set this little corner of the world on it's ear. Thank you so very much!

Not really, just kidding. GFY.
