Jokes aside, I kind of liked the FR vette. Yes it might be more prone to understeer or whatever, but it - like the Viper - always had that distinct aura of America.
I've seen two in/around our town of 30,000 here in central NC. Had to do a double take but they are pretty sweet. Just wait until they bring out the performance packages. Supercars beware.
I rolled past this car a few weeks ago coming home from Portland.
No question, itโs a very sexy car...The driver on the other hand was fat, old as fรผck, and looked like he had Down Syndrome.
Typical Corvette driver.

Hey now be careful. Some of us corvette drivers are not old and fat. Well, maybe a little old. Mine is a 2016 stock Z06, 650 HP, seven speed manual. It will out perform the 2020, by a wide margin.
So the Vette FINALLY goes mid-engine. Been a long time coming...
I have not followed Corvette development for many years and couldn't identify anything after 1990 or so, really, but some of the later ones I've seen from behind look like they have Pontiac DNA in the styling. Talking about the tail lights here. Kinda had me thinking GM might one day revive the Pontiac brand and cluster all their high-performance vehicles under the name. Just a wildass guess!

When I bought the new body designed corvette in 1986. I Thought I was gonna be the baddest on the road, until I pulled up next to a guy in a 1970โs vintage 4 speed Corvette, I believe.
He dropped the ass on his Vette twice, and left me where I was. I remember just watching the rear of his Corvette drop and lift every time he shifted gears.
Back when my kids were young, Mrs. Lastround and I said when the kids grow up and leave home, we would get us a Corvette. Well, we both got old and never got that Corvette. Iโm too old and stiff to get into one now anyway. Oh well!
There's a lot to like about it, despite the fact that it's a GM. But no manual option? I get it that the new autos are fantabulous and alla that, but it's the friggin' principle of the thing.

I sold mine less than a year later.

Had a C8 on order for a few months. Cancelled it and bought a new ZL1 instead. Good move on my part as the Z is faster and less expensive. Right now if you get on the list to buy one with a major Corvette dealer you are looking at least a years wait. Donโt expect to pay less than MSRP for at least a couple of years.
I followed a Accelerate Yellow 2020 Corvette up the the highway last week, I must say I would take a standard "slow" 194 mile version any day of the week.

Nah, I played musical garages for weeks. Kept them playing whereโs Waldo.
Finally, I traded myself into a new Toyota Supra turbo with targa top, in metallic red. Wrecked it. That was pretty much the end of my cop fun cars for a while.
I did the Ron Fellows racing school in Pahrump Nevada a few years ago in a C7. Very fun but at almost 6'2" I just don't fit in them. Wouldn't be comfortable for very long.
I hate the cock pit design they do in all cars these days. Why does ever center console have to be 18"s wide? Does everyone prefer to drive with their knees together. They'd have to make a ball room edition before I bought one.
Oh, yeah, it's not. I drove ours straight to Dallas, about 8 ours if I recall, and upon arrival I thought they were going to have to get the jaws of life to get me out.
Fit my wife well though and she drove it way more than me.
