Very sorry to hear. There are really only two groups of men, those that have lost their Mom and those that will.
I’m one of the blessed that if given the chance to choose their Mom, would pick the one I had. I’m guessing you’re in that group as well.

Spent time with my mom (and dad) today. The older I & they get (my 44 to their 68) the more like old friends we become. Almost no one I like spending time with more than them.

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words.
Executive orders from the Communist Governor here in Virginia limits seating capacity at church. The funeral home which also holds a state license was unwilling to provide full capacity and was adamant that masks would be required at their facility.
So we held the service at our family property on the edge of the Chesapeake Bay. The weather was spectacular and no one... mask or no mask was turned away from paying their last respects to my mother on our own private property.
It was a large crowd with wonderfully dignity... and all were pleased with the home property solution.
I am only sharing that solution if others become pressed in a similar manner over the next five years that coronavirus will have a grip on this Nation.
Glad she got a good send off.

it seems to be the consensus you will be missing her for a long while. Been my experience so far too, that goes for my siblings.
Wonderful that you were able to remember her at home, without the .gov restrictions, so all her friends and family could come. An excellent workaround.

My Mother passed from that insidious theft of life in numerous ways Alzheimer's, she was the one person who loved me no matter what, wife and kids waver, not Mom...
