Made a pork shoulder last Friday, warmed some up in the nucrowave, added a little BBQ sauce from the local butcher shop and plopped it atop some homemade buns.
Chicken strips on the George Foreman countertop grill over salad (lettuce/tomato/peppers). I'm trying to get off of my high blood pressure meds, BP was 119/85 last week at the doc's office so I'm getting there.
2 Whole wheat cheddar cheese quesadillas with 1/2 an Anaheim pepper and a fresh tomato on them, the veggies from the garden. Might have to have another 'mater or two for dessert before they're all gone.

you exercising too. If I can put in a couple miles walk every day, keep scheidt done around here, and not eat a bunch of salty restaurant food I can keep mine at a level that keeps the doc from wanting to prescribe for me.
I'm running 2.5 miles every evening in town at a park, doing even more yardwork - place looks great LoL. I was walking but I stepped it up because I wasn't getting the results I wanted. No salt, no alcohol. Whatever it takes I'm doing it, Doc said I'm more motivated than her other patients with high BP.
Lunch with a friend today....beef brisket and melted provolone topped with blueberry chutney on a toasted bun. Cole slaw and Diet Coke with a slice of lemon on the side. Really enjoyed it.
One of buddies goes up to AK every year and catches salmon. Not sure what type but anyway I got my hands on some and we grilled it up on Sunday.
Very good, much better than the store bought wild sockeye that is sometimes available here.
Enjoying the leftovers while busting cock and hen out of the food plot....
When I lived in AK from '91 - '92, I worked a commercial fishing operation for a few months - set netting out from Keni in the Cook Inlet. Those fellers would snag one of the huge Kings we caught that day, fillet it, throw it on the grill and pour BBQ sauce all over it. When I first saw them do it, I was surprised, but it was good. Damn good.
I stopped going to Cracker Barrel when the pot roast they served me once came with a rather clear gravy that had what looked like big pieces of gold glitter in it.
I mean, what the Hell is that? A man has to have a decent gravy on his pot roast.
'course, it is El Paso - you never know what the Hell you're gonna' get out here. I was once served a Carne Asada that looked and tasted like shoe leather that was soaked in bile for a week.
Just 1 hard boiled egg before a 6 mile hike. It was the 1st not hot day in 4 months and was glorious. Tonight the diet goes out the window. Cauliflower crust pizza and a Marie Callenders blueberry pie
I snuck around behind the HVAC unit at the asbestos factory and had three warm Miller High Life cans with my Indian round steak sandwich, that’s balogny for you guys who ain’t from the Rez.

Cracker Barrel. Country fried steak, green beans, and mashed potatoes.
My White Mama loves Cracker Barrel.
I have always like Cracker Barrel, as it's probably the closet thing to homestyle cooking as you'll find in a chain restaurant. However, I've been disappointed the past few times we've been there. They've changed their menu, and quit serving some of the dishes I've always liked. My chicken fried steak was a pretty lame excuse for one, and tasted like the ones you buy in the frozen food section at a grocery, that you just warm up and eat.

Thats too bad to hear thats the one place ahe wants me to take her when this whole mess is over, mostly. Decades ago she was working on the East Coast and that was her go to place as she said it reminded her of her Grandma cooking.
Like with most big corporate chain restaurants I guess less cooking actually taking place and more reheating of food that was prepared in an offsite industrial facility.
