Speaking of Hutterites, the one important thing I learned when I moved to Montana is that them Hutterites sell good food. Sweetest carrots I've ever tasted are the Hutterite ones at the farmer's market.

I worked night shift for 15 years. Ain't no getting over that. But then, I never was a morning person, anyway.

Funny you mention that. I cannot bear the taste of raw commercial carrots. Never have been able to since childhood. Always just thought it was me. Could tolerate them cooked and sorta liked them "candied". Then I grew some, knowing I could put them in stir fry and stew and such. Man, was I in for a surprise.

I haven't planted any at this place as the dirt in my garden beds sucks some for root veggies. But next year a part of the garden will be across our seasonal creek in the bottom land dirt. I expect good sweet carrots.

Our local farmers market has some good ones at times. I can eat them raw.
