Knowing the fire has some of the smartest mudda fuggers on the planet posting on this forum, I need a bail out. Had duct taped visquine around backseat area of truck to keep dog from slobbering on mommas seats and side window. Left the chit on to long before I removed it and now the adhesive residue is like concrete. I've tried over the counter goo go crap with Little to no effect. Any good hacks or products known among the masses? Appreciate any help!

Try Vaseline. Apply let sit, wipe or gently scape with old credit or dull plastic scraper. Ive gotten paint, marker and crayon off my leather seats from the kids like that.

Never tries that Jefe.

I've got an old car that still has stains from a drooly dog..............every time I see it I'm reminded fondly of Val, the dog I take my screen name her from.

The vaseline thing might work. I've heard of vegetable oil working on gum/adhesive. Just test it on a place you can't see, make sure it won't ruin your seats further.
Vegetable oil.

I've had good luck with WD40.
Posted By: JakeBlues Re: Tapping the brain trust - 10/17/20
When removing basic adhesive stuff like decals, WD-40 has worked great for me. For stupidity with super glue, I have needed nail polish remover. Whatever you use, do a little, clean it up, and repeat until done. Don't leave any solvent on the surface for more than a few minutes if that. Don't just assume you won't ruine the surface. Find a hidden spot and experiment.

Alcohol?
Damn! That seems to be my answer for everything.

Mineral spirits and a rag. Leaves a nice scent for awhile that will keep libs from bumming a ride. Win-Win

Technically alcohol is a solution.

If it’s gorilla tape good luck. I’ve tried everything for baked on gorilla tape residue. 3M makes an adhesive remover. That may work, but it may harm plastic.

Yeah...but to be fair a bottle of OP rum is never a bad answer.
"The Warden" says Goo Gone ain't worth a -well you know.
But to try Goof Off - in a hidden area, first.
She used to paint buildings, so is somewhat experienced .

Appreciate the ideas, forgot about WD40,cleaned road stripe paint off with it before, that might be the silver bullet? Tried the Goo Gone with Little results but maybe I didn't let it sit long enough to do it's magic?

We use Vis-Clean on the job. When it ages it takes a pretty serious set. Of course, you be done figured that out. Be interesting to see what the remedy turns out to be.

For future reference, you might want to take a look at this. We bought one and used it on a trip recently. Rocky was happily contained for over 3000 miles of traveling, and the thing is well made and works like a charm.

WD40 and alcohol. Spray on WD40, have a shot and a beer, wipe off. Repeat as necessary.

Bought a truck that had a dried in place Harley sticker on the back window. Half a bottle of GoopOff and could not even get it to smear after using a razor scraper. Acetone/not. Found an old can of lighter fluid and whole window cleaned right up. Try it.

Hoppe's number 9 is pretty good at getting stickum off and if it don't at least it'll make your car smell good.

Technically alcohol is a solution.

Alcohol is a solvent. Combined with a solute, it makes a solution.

good thing about duct tape, that schidt sticks to anything!

bad thing about duct tape, that schidt sticks to anything!

river trip etiquette (lots of hypalon, urethane and PVC gear (waterproof bags, gear bags, rafts, inflatable kayaks, etc)

"Please don't use duct tape on plastic/rubber gear" "use electrical tape (colored plastic tape) instead"

I've used this to loosen and de-solve silicone caulk. Also used it to remove the stickie from vinyl lettering on cars and trailers.
