Tonight for the first time. Jotul Oslo 500.
I have lots of wood. Won't run out next month. Won't run out next year.
Love the big Norwegian stove. My girlfriend calls it her "new religion."
Isn't it good, Norwegian Wood (stove).
Nice. Did the same here in north Alabama. Let it go out today, but just fired back up for the evening
Got a new Englander with an electric blower at the cabin. Heats the place up fast. Timberline in the shop. Heard good things about the jotul.
Replaced an aging Jotul this Spring with a new Jotul F100 Nordic. We're having a rather cool Fall, been using it pretty much all month. Great stove.
I don’t care what anyone says. Nothing beats wood heat.
Last night was the first night we haven’t ran the AC at night since April
Stoked my stove about two weeks ago during a cold snap. Earliest I have had to fire it up on a consistent basis. It won't go out now till April, unless we get a warm stretch in March! I do all my cooking and baking on the woodstove in winter. My Friday night batch of popcorn popped in bacon grease and peanut oil is my religion!
Been running mine for a couple of weeks too. Last night was the first night without it.
You don't have to tell anyone you lit a woodstove, they knew it long before you said anything.
We got the bucket off of the flue pipe, might light a fire this weekend.
Been going a few weeks in the mornings. Try to have it up and going before the kids get up.
Not for some time now. At the cabin.

Show pics of girlfriend. 😁😁
We swapped out our old classic Fisher for a Jotul a handful of years ago. Night and day...
I haven't had a wood stove since '91. I miss it.
Still using an Edan Pure and the electric fireplace.
We get all day sun. If daytime temps are above 50 and not too cloudy,
We can pretty well keep it warm by using the curtains to let in and then
hold heat.
Burning wood under these conditions creosotes the chimney. It just smolders.
Small house, tight, insulated, don't take much heat.

I built a little house like that in Eastern WA. Tight, well insulated, lots of thermal mass. Would get up in the morning and build a little fire and let it go out. Warm for the family when they got up, still decent when home from work.
I miss wood heat.
I've been burning on and off for a month or so. I've got 7 cords split and stacked, so I'm set for the year. Been burning a woodstove since I built the house in 1980.
We had our first fire of the fall in our fireplace last night. Not only was it cool but we were out of electricity (along with a bunch of other folks in N GA) and heat due to a storm that came through here Wednesday night . So we have also been running a generator. The lights just came on tonight a few minutes ago but the fire stays on. The warm heat and glow is just wonderful.
Nice, got plenty of wood cut, but have the stove yanked out of the fireplace leaning back against the bricks waiting for the new fan from WW Grainger, brown truck will be here Monday.
Its going to be 28 degrees in Chester county tomorrow night . Glad I have plenty of wood up there .
Have not started a fire in the stove or fireplace at the house yet. Started one in the cabin stove tonight to take the chill out. Couple hunters are joining me soon. Couple of good days of bow hunting are planned.
I only burn in the shop! Started morning fires for a couple weeks now! It been 17 to 28 degrees each morning. I use the shop daily, its nice to work in a warm area!

that's a pretty nice stove wabiloon
So Edm, you swapped the Fisher for the Jotul. I love the Jotul as well but those Fishers were great stoves. You still see a lot of them out there.
They are indestructible. I guess the Jotul is more efficient.
We've got a Lopi. Made in the USA. Not nearly the character of the classic stoves, but very efficient. It has two surface levels of heating. One you can technically cook on, and the other is for keeping food and beverages hot. Perfect for a big pot of chile to simmer for a couple of hours.
Burn pinon pine and red cedar mostly.
Started one in the house for the first time Friday morning. Sure felt good. Started on this morning to take the chill off. Will let it go out about noon. Supposed to be in the low 60's today.
