I've been burning on and off for a month or so. I've got 7 cords split and stacked, so I'm set for the year. Been burning a woodstove since I built the house in 1980.

We had our first fire of the fall in our fireplace last night. Not only was it cool but we were out of electricity (along with a bunch of other folks in N GA) and heat due to a storm that came through here Wednesday night . So we have also been running a generator. The lights just came on tonight a few minutes ago but the fire stays on. The warm heat and glow is just wonderful.

Nice, got plenty of wood cut, but have the stove yanked out of the fireplace leaning back against the bricks waiting for the new fan from WW Grainger, brown truck will be here Monday.

Its going to be 28 degrees in Chester county tomorrow night . Glad I have plenty of wood up there .

Have not started a fire in the stove or fireplace at the house yet. Started one in the cabin stove tonight to take the chill out. Couple hunters are joining me soon. I only burn in the shop! Started morning fires for a couple weeks now! It been 17 to 28 degrees each morning. I use the shop daily, its nice to work in a warm area!

I love the Jotul as well but those Fishers were great stoves. You still see a lot of them out there. They are indestructible. I guess the Jotul is more efficient.

We've got a Lopi. Made in the USA. Not nearly the character of the classic stoves, but very efficient. It has two surface levels of heating. One you can technically cook on, and the other is for keeping food and beverages hot. Perfect for a big pot of chile to simmer for a couple of hours.
Burn pinon pine and red cedar mostly.

Started one in the house for the first time Friday morning. Sure felt good. Started on this morning to take the chill off. Will let it go out about noon. Supposed to be in the low 60's today.
