What possible satisfaction do you expect to glean from this thread? Seriously? Why on earth would you be looking through his profile to begin with? You’re turning out to be a creepier fugg than I originally thought....
I butted heads with Crossfireoops many times. But I sure as fugg showed some respect about his death, cause his friends sure as hell didnt need any schitt from people on the web about what they dealt with.
JFC... Your a fugging azzhole trying to play some devils advocate schitt for some type of glee in your head.
And WGAF if one of his friends has his account info. Maybe that person or persons is looking back at post he made.
You got a big one of these sticking outta your forehead right now.
Don't correct the POS ... He meant too spell it that way. In reference to his death and what his friends dealt with in the mans home when they went their.
Fugging troll looking for reaction and trying to strike nerves of those involved.
Others were fishing around about how the guy died after his death also.
Your never gonna know how he died azzhole even with your little innuendo game.... He had solid friends who will protect his memory.

Yup, He’s laughing smiling the whole time, he loves this s-hit......
Amazing how defensive the Campfire crybabies get about some drunk guy who offed himself. Bizarre stuff.
Obviously, he ended up an embarrassment to everyone here.
You're the embarrassment. What's amazing is that your daddy didn't take you outside knock you in the head and just throw your dead body in the river to the turtles.

See what I mean, Leroy schitforbrains Professes the liberal ideas of love and comradery yet Greg gets him to go completely against everything he professes to believe.
Well done Greg, even though you're not with us you are still here.

Uncalled for.
Those of us who knew him were aware of his complex character. Part saint and part sinner, like most of us. Surely had his own demons which he fought privately. Multi-talented and generous. A gracious host the time I visited him and enjoyed his hospitality.
Respect to those who guard his privacy. May he RIP.
I knew Greg pretty well. I can tell you he is loving this thread. He is trolling the trolls and didn't have to lift a finger or type a letter. Living rent free inside the heads of these liberal, commie trolls and all he had to do was write what he thought. Give it your best shot, he is loving it! I can see him now doing that little dance he used to do and laughing his butt off.

Likely one of the few users on here reporting back to his handlers on who has which, and how many, firearms.
I'm sure the little commie Fugg has files on all of us, and likely users on other forums.
...trying to secure himself a real job in the coming democrat stazi so he can earn enough money to be able to finally move out of his grandmother's basement. She's probably starting to question the smells coming from down there.

Offed himself ? So you are privy to information that none of us are, even his closest of friends.
So you should speak to the authorities, and get them up to date on what you know to be solid fact about his death.
Cross was never an embarrassment, just a decent human trying to make it through life just like the rest of us, and trying to help those who truly needed it in life.

Fred gets permabanned for calling Rick out for allowing Scott to trash his wife and kids, but ISRO and Leroy can talk scheit and trash a dead mans name. Pretty fugged up.

Good thing Fred never said anything about stick's family.

This seems a good time to quote that icon of the left, the Hildabeast. At this point what difference does it make?

Not my fight, I’ve gotten along with both of them but go back and see where that started. I believe it was something to the effect of Fred’s young kid being called “tittyboy” after a pic of a cow elk he’d killed. Obviously schit escalated out of control after that.
Crossfire salvaged an old Iver Johnson I inherited from my Grandpa that had a barrel bulge, would not take a dime for his work.
Good man and good friend.
Leroy and ISRO can apply negative pressure to my rectal opening, faocktards both!
Greg was an interesting cat, for sure! The guy could build, make, or engineer about anything it seemed.
He fixed up an old Stevens Favorite for me. It is my favorite rimfire rifle by far.
Vaya con Dios!
As an aside, how sad a sack of schit must one be to troll a dead man on an Internet forum? It could be comical if it wasn’t so fuggin pathetic.
MadMooner; Good morning to you sir, hopefully the Thanksgiving long weekend has treated you all acceptably and this finds you well.
Greg and I corresponded a fair bit over the years - he'd call me "Hoser" - a Bob and Doug McKenzie reference from his days on this side of the medicine line.
We eventually determined that we may well have met when he was managing a PetroCan gas station on the west side of Calgary that I filled up at a few times. Funny how small the world can get isn't it?
Anyways I'd pick his brain about everything from plastic welding to the merits of various bearing types for certain applications and as you noted, his input was usually experience based and pointed me in the correct direction for a solution.
He'd ask about it afterward too, so he was interested in still learning, which in my view and experience speaks to an individual who is still attempting to better themselves.
Oh, he sent me a book too, which reminds me I should add to my winter reading list again. It'll remind me of him and frankly too many of my friends and mentors who've left much too early for my liking.
I suppose that reminds us all however that the words we peck out here will remain indefinitely for others to read and either be edified or horrified, whichever is appropriate you know?
All the best to you as the days get shorter and colder sir.

The reaction of this place when someone responds to Big Stick the same way he treats others is actually pretty pathetic.
He has no problem talking smack about someone's family, and should expect in-kind responses.

Thank you Dwayne. Life, despite all the recent chaos, is wonderful.
Cross is one I definitely regret not going out of my way to visit with in person. We had chats that ranged from living aboard ships, rifles, cattle, diesels engines, etc.... He was a wealth of knowledge on many subjects. I respected the man, even if we didn’t always see eye to eye.

i knew greg probably as long or longer than anyone on here. to leroy who ever you are, go [bleep] yourself. he dealt with many things. my overriding memory of greg was one day visiting with my wife, and touring his garden. He gave my wife a bunch of fruit to make a pie with, and then bent over in the old southern fashion to kiss her hand. there were times he could really piss me off, but he never stopped being my friend, and doesn't deserve this crap. multitalented is an understatement.
i have many memories of greg, both good, mostly good, and some bad. but i remember the day we were s hooting down there, and i noticed that ruger old army bp revolver he had on. loaded with 400 grain 45. 70 leadpills. he grinned and said you couldn't blow up the ruger, just stuff enough powder in it to leave room for the lead, and let it go. I have an old army and keep saying i am gonna try that load some day. Lots of memories, like him trying to talk me into putting night vision game camera's in the san pedro, to record the narco's moving stuff north. didn't ever happen. but i remember sitting at his house at night watching the lights going over the mt from mexico. greg posted a lot on the border. what almost nobody knew was his love of south america, and his attachment for the people. which is about all i am gonna say. i hesitate in posting this link here, but maybe it will shut up some of the azzholes on here. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/190704568/gregory-tilford-cameron

I was thinking after starting to read this thread, right before we took the dogs for a walk, that Lynn will be along to address these two (insert favorite word for unlikeable folks).
As per usual, you are too kind and polite in your words to them. However, I guess I'd expect nothing less.
Enjoy the day there, we're having a wonderful sunny fall day here. I hope you're having the same.

I had been speaking to Cross through the PM function here and I offered to come down and help him get his flagpole up. I don’t remember the timeline but suffice to say that I never had the pleasure of shaking his hand and I’m diminished for it.
I got my ass chewed by him and I chewed his ass a time or 2 but I had (have) nothing but respect for the man. I dearly wanted to meet him and was fascinated by his life’s adventures.
I think about him often and he’s always in my prayers. That was the toughest death of a person I had never met that I’ve ever dealt with.

Pondscum. Pretty much all I can come up with. I hate to even reply but people like you are the epitome of cancer. Here’s to hoping you get the most painful type.
i have not felt right about anything connected with greg's last days, for a variety of reasons which for sure i will never discuss on this or any other forum. those that were close to him, knew his life's story, with the good and the bad. I will always regret not knowing he called me shortly before his death, i might of been of service. and yes, i and quite a few others i know are defensive of gregs memory. leave him along and go [bleep] off. calling him a drunk just isn't right. He was gifted in so many ways. one of the things he did which kept us talking is we, along with some others remaining nameless on th is forum, took care of our elderly mothers. for me it was seven years 24hours a day, constant care. Greg dealt with the same thing with his mother, a gracious lady i met before her death. Like I said just leave him alone. those that know his story wouldn't need to be trying to pry information on the net.

I do not know a lot of Greg's life, he would drop pieces here and there but that was it and it never bothered me because I was interested in the man he was then when we started interacting. And a good man he was. I had a lot of conversations with him and he taught me a lot of his personal experiences with living on the border.
I remember not to long before his departure he put out a call for some tiny switches for a project he was doing. I had some, I sent him a picture and he said that would fit the bill so I sent them to him. I was thrilled that I was able to help him out because I knew that if I needed something from him he would not hesitate one damn second.
He was a man that you could count on and that is big in my book.
You can't have any regrets about the phone call Ron, it won't do you or anyone else any good.

Those 4 words highlighted in blue mean everything, There are multiple millions of "males" in this word, but very few that can claim to be a man in the true sense of the word.
He was a man, and I admired him for it and I respected him for it, and I loved him for it.
Those who had a problem with him should have known, he didn't give a damn what you thought of him, as long as what he thought of himself was Honourable and true.
I turned a magazine follower for a Marlin 336 out of stainless steel. He wouldn't hear of it,....said I should have made it out of bronze. So I turned one out of silicon bronze and sent it to him,..told him, "Here,..shut up".
ISRO and Leroy, you are welcome to visit me if you want to bad-mouth my friend. I will even pay for your meals and accommodations. Yes, I have met Greg - even spent time in his house.
I'm not hard to find - my name and town are posted. I'm a bit known in this AO - therefore am NOT hard to find. I would welcome you both, properly.

You are still a lying worthless sack of excrement claiming you did not know he was no longer with us. Here is a quote from Greg in 2017 about you ... good buddies weren't you he thought so highly of you...
"He's NOT listening to "the Dems",.....Per above, he's listening to the voices in his head, and writing the material they espouse.

Your words about Greg would’ve been more important to him than all of our compliments put together. He didn’t need the approval of any of us.

In case you do not know, you are in the same category of men as Cross, honorable and true, and that as a man is above and beyond anything else that you can offer to others, and most importantly to yourself.
Lynn
*You also make me smile more than most, and that in itself is an accomplishment, trust me on that
We never potted shots to me here but we PM'd a fair bit as he was fascinated with my work, the welding, the rigging and others on a scale he could only wonder about. "How do you tie your four cables to lift 5000 tonnes"? I appreciated the interest.

Lol. I believe the photo of him flipping the bird had him holding a small steel buffalo silhouette covered with .22 lead splotches. That may have been during my visit when we went to the range and shot rows of little buffalo at 200 yards with vintage single shots. Fun.

I popped in to see how the ‘Fire was processing all the 2020 cra-cra. No comment there. I did not know Greg had passed. We certainly went round and round, but we had some back-channel comms in private that showed me he had a heart of gold. RIP Greg.
What an incredible coincidence that you would just show up in such a timely manner.....
Uncanny, isn't it?
Jeff thinks everyone else is as dumb as he is...........
Jeff O is a fugging scumball running multiple Liberal Socialist Democrat sockpuppet trolls on here. And he whelches on bets.
Amazing how defensive the Campfire crybabies get about some drunk guy who offed himself. Bizarre stuff.
Obviously, he ended up an embarrassment to everyone here.
I don't know the subject of the discussion. Maybe they are liberal minded enough to look past a man's troubles and addiction and see the good in him. Great job of reprezintin the modern loony left.

Dwayne
Thank you Dwayne. Life, despite all the recent chaos, is wonderful.
Cross is one I definitely regret not going out of my way to visit with in person. We had chats that ranged from living aboard ships, rifles, cattle, diesels engines, etc.... He was a wealth of knowledge on many subjects. I respected the man, even if we didn’t always see eye to eye.
Hope you folks are warm, healthy, and well fed!
MadMooner; Thanks for the reply and for sharing your interactions with crossfire, I very much appreciate you doing so.
It's interesting to me that I'd forgotten his nautical background, but recalled it when you reminded me. Likely because I've always maintained that I'll ride a rough horse rather than a smooth boat anytime and any day.
Since I'd just completed Mule Deer/John Barsness' new book Gun Gack III, as I'd just mentioned digging out the book cross had sent me I did that.
Here's a shot of the inscription he put into the front.
It's also interesting to me that while I valued his inscription, it meant less somehow when we were both still on this mortal coil, you know?
The other take away I have as well about that, is without looking I'd have bet it wasn't 8 years ago, but it was and here we are in the final month of a memorable year to say the least.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record - using that statement alone lets one know how many growth rings I've accumulated for sure - but once again it's a reminder to me endeavor to write or post things that will perhaps and hopefully still be of some use after I'm no longer here either.
All the best to you all sir, I'm trying not to say "Christmas Season" until next week so I'll just leave it at "official start of winter" perhaps.
