At my/our age, a nice quiet evening at home. Perchance a bit of bubbly in a fancy glass!

I work till 4-5 today. Head to girlfriend's. Eat, play some cribbage and watch some Forged in Fire on hulu.

In bed 9pm easy.

Tomorrow - head to camp, do some coyote hunting, cribbage and beers. Need to measure windows for new curtains there. Old ones are 40 years old now. New ones are going to be made out of red/black flannel.

Got a family coming over tonight.

We were invited to a couple parties.....but my busted azz wife is more comfortable at home.

So our friends and their two kids are coming over.

My brother and young nephew are coming in tomorrow for a last weekend deer hunt.

Cooking racks of ribs, and some blackeyed peas with cornbread for New Year's day lunch!

Our plans exactly. Bought our annual bottle of bubbly yesterday.

I'll be in bed by 9. Fireworks will wake my up at 12, then back to sleep. Same routine every year.

How'd your wife bust her ass? I fell on the ice Monday, I think my butt looks like a plus sign now. It's still really sore but it's at the funny stage so I might live. Long ways from my heart.

I'm going to bed early so I can get up and ice fish. Wife and I are going for supper and hopefully some love action later. Teenagers, Gods free birth control.

There is a big crazy party out south tonight.

Unfortunately....cornbread and ice tea took the place of pills and 90 proof.

I hope to be done installing the replacement clothes dryer by midnight.

Set here and listen to the bitchin’ and try to go to bed early. Get up tomorrow drive to old buds ranch and meet up with the son’s and grandsons for some possible deer/ pig slaying. Sleep on back porch in my buffalo robe. Eat fire roasted meats and sausages. Drink some squeezins.

Daughter is staying with a friend, wife is working. Just going to be me and my son. I plan to get my ice fishing gear ready for the weekend when I get home from work in a few hours, then spend the evening with my son watching movies or playing video games.

It's just my wife and I and the pup. About noon or so I am going to start a pot of chili. We did the Christmas tear down yesterday so I have multiple loads to take to the attic... Fairly cool so I am thinking the first winter fire this evening. A few cocktails prior to dinner then likely in the sack by 11:00.

I'm hoping to be asleep well before midnight (catch up on lost sleep night before).
New roof on 2/3 of the house. Hopefully no catchy boolits.

Taking my wife out to a nice Italian restaurant. We called and made a reservation,..asked about the face mask deal. They said to wear a mask until you're seated then take it off. So I can live with that.

Nice dinner with the family, a few bears and hope to make it until midnight to ring in the New Year.

Yeah, but that 32 came & went through 4 panes of glass and 2 layers of drywall - in the summer, but not even close to the 4th of July.
Cops said just kids having fun - they shot through an apartment bldg down the road.
The next year, someone dinged 2 windows with a pellet gun, one in the house and one in the office.
We haven't been a target in quite a while - hope it holds!

Had to oil it, might look for a bambi in the morning if i can get some sleep.

Music turned up here so the pups don’t hear the fireworks or firearms. Panic city for them.

Ain’t even 10 yet and it’s Stalingrad out there, dogs are stuck right to me, they actually tremble and pant and get glassy-eyed with fear.

Only thing I can figure maybe this sort of panic figures into wildfire response in ancestral wolves.
