i am buying a used glock with minor issue , according to seller : " right side of trigger guard has been contoured slightly to prevent sharp edge on finger"

is this a permanent damage ?

If it's for using, then it matters not at all. That sort of thing only has to do with collector value, which later Gen Glocks don't have much of anyway.
It's a common thing to do to the frame.

It depreciates the value but if it's something you want I'd not bat an eye.
Unless you want to build it back up with something or buy another frame. I wouldn't pay it any mind but id sure hit him for a lower "damaged" price
There is plenty of meat in that area. Common thing done to glocks. My Glock 40 has even more material removed in that area. No troubles at all. But yes it is permanent. Being that the frame is the "firearm". It's a glock though if it does not bother you when you grip it and the price is right buy it. If you want a pristine collector grade wait a day or two and I am sure you can find 2 or 3 million in such condition to choose from.
if it is for shooting I would not worry about that at all,no biggie at all as far as strength of the frame.
If the price is right
Collectors value?
A Glock?

I think the only ones with collector value are Gen one and maybe two.
Could have been done smoother.
And blended way better
You oughta touch it up and blend it some more with 400 grit
Then a final light hit with 600 grit.

Go light ...
You cant put material back.
Wont take much at all to make it look " professional"
Now it looks like something a 3rd grader did.

And when you blend those lines yourself it will give you a sense you made vast appearance improvements over bubba,s amatuerish work.

Yep I’d go one step further and say that if you’re right handed it’s a desirable mod.

I did that to my 26 w/ dremel to allow me to grip it as high and tight as possible right from the holster.

IMO Glocks are ugly utility guns meant to be used not displayed. I have ugly utility-based Talon grips on mine that look like sandpaper.

An Ed Brown it’s not but it fits me beautifully.

He got the $20 Gunwizard special.
My 19 isn’t the same generation as yours but mine appears to have that “relief cut” from the factory since I bought this new last year.
That stupid little notch in the triggerguard is brutal on my middle finger. That reason alone was enough for me to never want a Glock.

Looks like it.

D- in contouring plastic for function and appearance for sure...

LOL!!!

PD can bring it up to an A with some very light sanding on those crude lines left on it....
He even reimprint some of the texturing somewhat matching the factory texturing.
With a magnifying glass and very very light touching with a slighlty mashed and heated sewing needle point held with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Meticulous work begining from center to outside edges left of factory texture

Have ta have some OCD going on and ww2 1/35 scale model german armour building skills.

Otherwise than that.
Just blending all them left over multi angle sanding lines would be GTG...
A permanent damage? You think it’s gonna regenerate that trigger guard like a salamander? Glock’s have reached collector status. Why am I surprised.

Shhhhhhh......

Might leave a half a tail wiggling to distract while it runs away...

LOL!!!

Dolly Parton can shoot a glock with her prehensile nipples
She dont mod the trigger guard.

Just seen Dolly on a commercial.....

crazy laugh

LOL!!!

...... Got my Gen 3 G19 out to look at it and mine is the same way. It came that way when I got it new. What gen. is the O.P.'s ?
Gen 4
Looking at my Gen 3 again and it appears that one pictured just had the left & right sides of the trigger guard rounded off slightly and just a tiny bit removed from the grip just below the trigger guard. Not enough removed that I would worry about it. If I was more computer savvy I'd post a picture of my trigger guard but this web site's too difficult.

P-dog,
It's no big deal.
A lot like "dehorning" a carry 1911 for a more snag free draw.

The factory stag grip irritated the nerve casing on my third finger. Had to change out for one without the stupid little tab sticking out.
I have a P80 frame kit that I have yet to put together. The triggerguard notch is much larger, and hopefully, it won't grind on my finger like the Glock notch does...badly.

Is that your work? Nice.
Yeah wow “vast improvement”.

It looked like one of millions of chunky but functional black plastic handguns in the before pic, but in the after it looks like one of millions of chunky but functional black plastic handguns.

I wish you good fortune in keeping it free from further “permanent damage” via scratches and dirt and such.

Okay, thanks.
Glocks feel funky to me. Shoot em well ( better than Sigs ).
I said skip em both and went HK.

They feel great in my hand. At least the 26,19,17 frame size does.
Listening to others at gun shows in 2000, I heard the American Rifleman quote "rebluing a $50k low serial number Colt 1873 Peacemaker reduces the value" morph into the idea that "rebluing a $50 Turkish Mauser ruins the collector value".

Not the dumbest thing I have heard at gun shows, but at least gets on the list of dumb things at gun shows.
the deal fell through .

........ That's my factory original, untouched, Gen 3 Glock 19. Sent those to Persiandog after he PM'd me about it after I mentioned mine earlier in the thread. Shows what they look like from the factory. That's about the only way I could post a picture on this site is to e-mail a picture to somebody capable of posting pix on here, ( very little computer skills on my part).

Lol
I have seen many 10s of thousands of guns for sale at gun shows over the last 25 years.
I almost never see a Glock as a private sale with no paper trail.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the explanation.
As Slummie or Rene would likely say . . .

A little Bondo will fix that."
