Home Depot had a Black Friday deal on these at $20 or so.

They also had a sale on 6.0 amp hour batteries.

The ladies in the family have a Ryobi 18 volt string trimmer so I figured I would get a bunch of battery and give one of these grinders a try... although I typically don't think much of Ryobi (some stuff is great, but most is sub Harbor Freight junk).

Anyway, I use this tool constantly. I use the thin cut off wheels 99% of the time.

Chamfer a piece of steel prior to welding... perfect.

Cut off a bad battery terminal... perfect.

Shorten a chain, cut a lock, fabricate sheet metal... perfect.

The wife had me buy 16' pig panels as a garden trellis. Had to shorten them and this zipped thru the quarter inch steel like butter.

I even had to cut some nails holding on a piece of wood skirting the other day... plunged through the wood and cut the nails. Easy as pie.

Needed to cut down a huge tarp the other day and zipped right along with the grinder. As fast as I could walk and straight as an arrow.

I swear it seems like I use this tool 20 times a day. I wish I'd bought five.

What tool do y'all grab constantly?

When I was working it was either a can wrench or snips. Now that I'm retired, it's the radio.

Outside of screw/drill drivers, I always seem to have a pair of knipex end cutters in hand.

Started off with those, plus a splicing knife... graduated to the punch down tool soon after. Now, It's a serial cable and a laptop.
Not sure, but grinder is high on the list, along with welder and wood lathe.

Probably the hammer - if it doesn't work, find a bigger one.
When I was working a real job, every day, it was probably Starrett 0-1” micrometer, Starrett 1-2” micrometer and Brown and Sharpe.0001” indicator.
Lights.
Good lighting makes things easier.

Cable splicer?

I refer to the F word as "verbal lubrication".
For the really tough stuff you can add "mother" in front of it.

Cable Maintenance. Cable cuts, wet cable, lead cable, splicing, section replacements, bridge taps, referrals. If we couldn't fix it, it didn't get fixed. Actually, now that I think about it, I used my meter(s) more than anything.

My Ryobi cordless drill gets the most use. Over 10 years old and still going strong (on it's second battery).

I splurged a few years ago and bought a Makita circular saw. Money well spent.

I am also locked into the Ryobi system. About $400 worth of 4 AH batteries. The spotlight is my most recent purchase. Also a stapler for targets at the range, drill drivers, sawz all, trim saw, impact drill. I could really use that angle driver. I have not seen my 4 inch Makita since we moved.

Probably lay hands onto the drill driver most often.
My tape measures... I must have about a dozen of them but I always have to look for one when I need it.. but I use the heck out of them and several of them are due to be retired and replaced soon....

I work in an industrial fab/repair shop supporting a metal casting facility. Bulk of repairs I see are the tools used to stir molten metal in the furnaces. They are variations of a 25' or 31' long 6"X12"X1/2" wall tube with various heads and angles. These are powered by the Taylor forklifts or the Deere 624 loaders that they are mounted on

ETA, just found out it might be a paint brush.
About 50 years ago my FIL gave me a set of really cheap screwdrivers. They're all gone except for the largest one in the set that I started using back then for all those things you're not supposed to use a screwdriver for, like a chisel, punch (remember metal top oil cans?), small pry bar, and occasionally for a screwdriver. To this day it lays on my workbench behind the vise in easy reach when it is needed for a screwdriver abuse job, which still happens regularly.
No doubt my most used tool.

Very much the case here with the Ryobi cordless drill motors - have two, one for each shop - these things are tireless and seems like I use one every day. As for corded, went for Skil worm drive with the circular saw and Milwaukee with the recip saw. Also tireless.

Most would know I was kidding about the "bigger hammer" - dependable tools are a big part of things here. I use mostly Starret mics/calipers/dial/depth gauges and. akin to KC, seems like I'm always reaching for a good screwdriver of one tip or another. Recently, the handiest thing at the reloading bench has been that inexpensive but very good digital caliper from HF, and that RCBS auto powder measure that my wife gave me for a recent Christmas present is a blessing. Seat one bullet in a loaded case and prime another while the measure spits the next grains. (Darby suggested I get one - thanks to him). But, I do not at all care for the way one has to de-load the remaining powder from that thing.

Best/most rewarding tools I own are some fine musical instruments. Blessings.

That's about right.

I have two of the Ryobi 3 x 21 belt sanders.

At one time I had the small triangular head detail sander. I found the tool worked best if you cut off the cord and you stuck with sandpaper in the corner and sanded like hell.

I have old 1/6 sheet palm Roybi sanders that do well.

Couple of drills over the years. Mediocre at best.

I think I got several 2-pack 6.0 Ah Ryobi batteries for $50 each pack. Mostly I was buying the batteries for the longer run time of the women's' string trimmer. The four and a half inch grinder was a collateral purchase.

In a nutshell, buy Milwaukee, Makita (related companies), DeWalt etc.

Ryobi is junk 80% of the time.

3/16 size instead. Get about one and a half chain sharpened per tip. Sharpen about 40 chains in the winter and using the rest of the year... repeat.

I got a bunch of Ryboi schit but I don't work for a living so they do fine.

That little Dewalt impact is handy . I just bought an attachment for cutting metal that mounts to the impact gun.
Pair of Klein’s. I have a pair over 50 yrs old that I’ve used almost everyday and I can’t wear them out. I think they were invented by a white man. 😜. They just keep on working

With all the Amazon boxes wifey has coming the most used tool lately is probably that old antler handled hunting knife that's been on my work bench for 30 years.
If not the DeWalt 20 volt lithium drill then the Bosch circular saw. The latter is bad ass!
Used to be a "tweeker" but now days everything has an internal computer for adjustments, so a laptop is the most used tool for me.

PIzza cutter
Tool wise it's gotta be my floor jack. Cuss words I call a tool but they don't fix much, might make you feel better though.

Just the other weekend, wife ripped out our 4wd going up the hill in our driveway. I cussed, didn't helped but that jack came in handy.

She knows when the back tires are spinning not to engage 4wd. Only cost $250 so it could have been worse. I go through alot of front ends for some reason

Dunno- but the vise has to be right up there. Well, maybe the shelf on the bench-mounted drill press. Handy computer/drink/phone/tool/manual holder. Just not all at the same time. Sometimes I even use it to drill a hole in something.

One of the handiest things I have is a small powerful magnet on the drill press cowling. I now spend a LOT less time looking for that damned chuck key!
The tool that gets me out of the most trouble is a Milwaukee 1/4 shaft air driven die grinder. Basically a big gassy Dremel.

Under the hood, I fine the 1/4" Milwaukee ratchet a lot more handy than the 3/8" Milwaukee ratchet.

2X72 grinder/sander. After that it would probably be a toss up between the trip hammer and a hand hammer on a anvil.
my little pocket knife.

norm
I use my vise alot. A much underappreciated tool, and hard to find a quality example of anymore. I broke two cheap china made ones before getting a Yost forged and welded model. Made in Hong Kong or some such, but night and day better than those commie made ones.

A runner up for most used would be the Worksharp knife sharpener.
