I'll pray that you recover soon. If you don't take supplements, you might want to try Magnesium Citrate from Kroger's. I'd Stay away from calcium and dairy for now. Then order Magnesium oil. Contact me for details. You rub it in topically. It helps muscles relax.
Wife and I been doing magnesium oil last 3 weeks. I cannot sense any difference. She says he benefits her and gives her energy. No more headaches either.
Mag deficiency may or ‘may not’ have some helpful effect on migraines.
I used a cane a couple of years ago when I was having some lower back issues. I also purposely purchased a heavy 5’ walking stick while in South Africa several years ago as a primary defensive tool. It was actually a tool handle of some sort with a fairly heavy knob on top. Never quite figured out what it was meant for but it was comforting to carry along. Still have it but shortened it for easy packing in a rifle case on the trip home. Les
I normally use one of those walkers with the wheels in front. Just when my CBD oil and medicinal marijuana ain’t cutting it though. Bad days I use a rascal scooter with a Trump decal on the basket.

You could at least reference a specific verse or post a video to some prophetic type doomsayer.

The oral availability of magnesium is pretty low. Need an IV bag of it to make a difference.

That's good that you have some. When I spoke to Richard, you do know that the Mg Oil (MgChloride) is different from the Citrate thats sold at drug stores right?
I agree with what you said about migraines. There's a handful of causes. Many Naturepaths recommend Mg for headaches in general. Like you said. I think keeping a food/ beverage journal helps. Increasing water can help oftentimes. The journal can point you to food ir meds that might be causing the problem. That's the first thing I try since its cheap, easy, and a more common trigger than some. Are you getting migraines too?

What are you looking for? I could probably find Charlton Heston with his staff. Do you want the Red Sea scene and verse? 😉
I take my shooting stick on my daily mile walks with the dog, have a cudgel for hiking in steep terrain. It's helpful when traversing creeks or other times when footing may be uncertain.

A stick or staff when cruising the creek out back. Lotta current, slick babyhead rocks. As a kid, our veterinarian drown while fly fishing and i figure he was smarter than me, so hey, be careful.
In winter will sometimes use a root cane if slick as [bleep] walking the dogs and/or knee acting up. Last thing i want is to redo that damm experience.
In my youth i scoffed. But in the mountains, downhills, especially under load, God bless trekking poles.

It puts the lotion on.....or it gets the hose again.
I have an old Leki trekking pole that works well in the woods , but I can;t get Ma to give it back, so I use some old carbon ski poles. They are life savers !

Been there/done that. Was getting magnesium infusions at the a couple times a month.
Now that that his calmed down, I am talking 1600 mg Mag-Oxide tabs. Tacrolimus strips the mag from me, I’ll notice a palp or pvc occasionally. All that and my mag runs about 1.6-1.8. Barely in the brackets.
The homeopathic oil I referenced is more of an epsom salts type, wishful premise thing.
I broke a foot 35 years ago and transitioned off crutches to a hiking staff fairly quickly. I figured out something almost immediately: hood rats give a man with a stick a very wide berth. It became part of my regular kit after that.
Backpacking taught me that a staff is a really good idea. I boogered my right leg on an overnighter once . I was able to get out on the staff and one leg. That staff also dealt with numerous snakes and other beasties over the years.
I now limit my adventuring to my 200 acre farm. If I'm out, I've got a staff in my hand. The one I'm most fond of is a Pawpaw sapling I cut years ago down in the Big South Fork. I'd taken a tumble on wet rocks and my lower back was complaining. I cut a staff to help me get out. It's remarkably light and strong, and it has lasted 20 years.
In town, I've learned to take a cane/cudgel. I had jury duty last fall. I had not been downtown in a while, and took the cane along as an . . . insurance policy. I'm 62, so it kind of fits the overall look. This thing is as sturdy as a Louisville Slugger.
1) You get a wide berth from the undesirables 2) You get deference from the polite folk 3) Security guards wave you ahead.
I like Leki trekking poles. They're good for where the footing is iffy and also take about 20% of he force off your legs. Properly adjusted, though, they're too short for ahooting support when shooting offhand. Mine have 1.5" spikes on the end. Can be used for protecion against dogs. They weigh hardly anything.
I always use a staff or stick when hunting. Trekking poles would be great, but I only sling my rifle on one shoulder or carry Indian-style because I’m about as likely ti shoot one going in or out as while sitting. Even one stick helps a lot on hills, especially going downhill.
No, but I am going to get one. Walking on flat land is one thing, but hiking steep hills and banks is another. I can see they would be handy in rough terrain.

Magnesium is required for a hundred+ functions. It's good to know about it like you do. The MgCl is much more absorbed and utilized than the oxide form or Epsom salt. It's best used with another good form, but you won't find locally in a drug store. Do you eat a lot of dark greens?
If I’m not carrying a rifle I always have my walking stick with me when I’m out in the woods. I’ve used one for years. When squirrel hunting with my boys it comes in handy as a rest if they’re kind enough to let me take a shot at a squirrel with my pistol.
I grew up using hiking sticks. I used one 6'+ most of a couple decades. Then I started using double trekking poles. Basically adjustable ski poles. They are much lighter than any wood except bamboo. Skip the cheap aluminum ones and ask your son in law for a carbon fiber pair that has 5 star ratings. I'd pick it out from REI or wherever and ask for the exact set you want. Write down the order number so he doesn't accidentally get the wrong ones.
They come in foam, cork, and various plastic/rubber grips. I like the foam as your sweaty hands don't slip. It's not that expensive when you consider how much you will enjoy using them and walking more. They keep your upper body mobile and strong, while reducing knee and hip stress. It'll make a good birthday present.
☕ 😉 👍
It's biblical too. Some great men in the Bible used them, young and old. Young David and Moses at 80+ . (I think Jack wanted me to add this part.)
"And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.... Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled."

Why certainly
Dressed my legacy stand of collards yesterday with wood chips and mulch.
I post pics sometimes on here but the mtn dew, candy bar, beef jerky tittie babies shun collards and turnip greens. 😃
Some trekking poles are spring loaded for a cushion. I don't like them. When you need to push off to step up or over something, you lose the force you need.
I have always liked carrying a staff or a cane and appreciate it even more as I look forward to the "golden years". Climbing steep trails is easier with a little help from the stick. A friend once told me it was desirable to know how to deliver the "stick-lickin' " so I suppose they'd work for that too. GD

Awesome possum!
You are way ahead of me. I'm going to set up my seed planters tonight.
There's nothing better than greens like that for the best source of Mg and whatever they can draw up from the soil.
You are doing wood chip mulch? Excellent! I have cardboard thats ready for my moss mulch soon. One thing I want to plant are collards too. I'll be picking dandylions until the mixed greens get to size.
On the back issue, etc., I'm working with a big chain saw up in trees now and when my back gets tight/ sore, I buy a bunch of dark greens and eat salads. It helps me better than most anything else. Hope yours clears up soon.

I never bought those for that reason. Good you mentioned that for Wabigoon. I never needed shock absorbers, but noticed the aluminum vibrates and fatigues the arms faster than Carbon fiber. The big white oak is the only flex I found helpful, but thats comparing apples and oranges.
After my accident I suffered a stroke and what they called traumatic brain injury physical therapist have offered me various canes . I will use the walker when and if I go to court .
Of the various canes they have offered me none had a blade inside or fired a 12 gauge shotgun round so they were unsatisfactory .
I have a walking stick that a friend made me out of locust and finished nicely .

This movie platform is a little temperamental, but it usually works with patience. You might like Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman.
Carry one whenever I'm in the woods without a long gun: cruising timber, walking the dog, looking for sheds, etc. Helps with balance and beating down the brush and briars.
