It’s 2:45 AM. We had no power last night or yesterday morning so I stayed home, got generator going. I didn’t want to lose the food in freezer and icebox. It rained all day, slept a lot, paying the price for it now. Anyone else wide awake?

Been up since midnight. Siatic nerve problems make my legs hurt, and I have to get up. By the time they quit hurting, I am too awake to go back to sleep. Late afternoon, it is hard to stay awake. Bad cycle. miles

My Abby dog (JRT) is 18 years old today. For a while now she wants to go to bed at 7pm, and then go out in the middle of the night for a potty break.

Sometimes I can go back to sleep as quick as she does-sometimes not....

Just got in a habit of getting up early to enjoy a coffee, the news, and
Peruse the web. Alarm at 430. Leave for work anywhere from 5:45 to 7:20.

Didn’t get rained out yesterday but sure got wet, and muddy.

Not getting rained out today either, but fixing to get wetter, and muddier. Bringing along a change of clothes to keep all that wet and mud out of the pickup.

We just returned from walking the pup and got absolutely soaked from a one minute downpour. Now sipping my Sunday Bloody Mary while watching Roadkill.

Just got home, went out last night to see a cover band we like in Temple, glad wifey drove the two joys to get us home. She is tougher than me.

Up at 4:30, perfect, gives me time to hang out on the front porch and kick back. The rest of my day is busy.

The local purple martins are up in the dark and singing starting about 5am, that will all be over in less than a month tho as they get done breeding for the year. And a great horned owl just went overhead, big and slow and quiet, looked like special effects.

Been up since 4, Mel called she couldn't sleep so we talked for a while, she is getting ready for school now, got to teach those kiddos.

Wind woke me at 5–had to go check the moorings on the boats—everything good—we need the rain.

Woke up around midnight with leg pain (siatic nerve), and stayed up around an hour. Went back to bed and slept another hour and half and they woke up, so just got up and drank coffee for a bit. Then moved two hives of bees over to my cousins place. About 10 miles more or less. These were swarms that I caught in the back of my land. I wll leave them for a week or so and them move them back where I want them. Back home by 5:15 am. Light rain now so I am glad that I got that done. I still have two more hives to do that with. l am going to give one pair away, just don't know which at the moment. miles

Coffee Time...

Sipping hot tea on the porch with the dogs, What passes for a cool breeze around here blowing. Woke up at 3:30 instead of 4:30. Twelve hour days at work this time of year, gonna pay for it later.

Let Blackjack out, made my daily one cup of strong instant, had my 2 smokes.

Taking the Browns to the super bowl now.
Started out the day yesterday with 325 finished up with 486 and 2
"free" boxes of 9mm to the shooting stash after the dust settled.
Repeat today starting around 8am finish around 130pm.

Two cups down, the rain gutters are clean (what a mess) and the property weed whacked. My wife is mowing and I'll finish with the blower. I also have two of the four cars on battery maintainers. A pretty good morning as it is already heating up.

Assessing wind damage. Power just came back on about 3:35.have to reconnect the wifes main power cable off of battery power. Daughter and her family out of town. They live on back of place. Gotta fix fences in their yard where their menagerie of dogs went apes schidt during storm. One dog missing. They tore down rabbit hutch and killed both granddaughters rabbits. Thats just what I could see in the dark. What a mess. I’m gonna lay back down. Could be much worse!!!

What is this thing called rain of which you speak? Reading a story from a local meteorologist who says this monsoon season will likely be better than last year. Tucson had 1.5 inches last summer. Only time it was drier was like 1927 when Tucson had. 1.25 inches. Average is about 6 to 8. He didn't say it would even be good, just better than last year. Pretty safe forecast in my opinion.
