What do you do with old boat gas?
Dump it in the car a few gallons at a time with at least a half tank already in there to dilute it somewhat.

..........Yup.... That'll work.
I try to be near an empty tank to a 1/4 tank with a little Seafoam in there and then top off wish fresh gas the next time I run it.
I put stabil in it when I bought it so I just use it. Never had an issue.
I burn it in my jeep a little at a time.
My fuel is treated and I try to leave little in the tank at the end of the season.
Stuff in the portable tanks get dumped into the car. The ski boat gets almost filled with fresh ethanol free gas and stabilizer for the 7 month sit.
The Almar hold about 70 gallons. I try to keep all three tanks full all the time to prevent water buildup from condensation inside the tank.
I fill them with ethanol free premium to feed the Ford small block. And add Sea Foam in the fall.
Ethanol free and a bit of stabilizer in gear that may sit. Start things up and just run it.
Small tanks like chainsaws and weed eaters get drained and run dry each fall.
I burn as much as I can in my weedeater and saw.
Ethanol free is best if you can find it. Stabil helps.
Mix fresh gas with the old.
Depends also on how the boat (or portable tank) was stored, and how full the tanks were as others have alluded to.
Outdoor storage with temperature and humidity fluctuations will draw moisture into your tanks - better dump it in your wife's car a couple gallons at a time.
Indoor climate controlled storage - you might still be perfectly fine using it in your boat.
If it hasn't been stabilized, I mix it with Premium and burn it as usual. Even when I didn't in years past, I've had no problems with it. Some of that stuff sat in opened or unopened drums, or in smaller cans for years at a time.
I try to rotate my remote cabin stuff on a yearly basis - or whenever I get there (one time a 7 year lapse- gas burned fine....). Only in the last few years have I taken to adding stabilizer to it before I leave.
This is all non-ethanol. I tend to chamois everything that has sat for awhile for any water content.
It doesn't hurt to take all the above precautions.
I guess....

Liar. Your father would NEVER let you use his boat. And we know why!π
I keep all tanks full of treated ethanol free gas and have never had troubles with a boat, small engines, or even a generator for multiple years. The only trouble I ever had was forgetting a tank of non-treated e10 in a motorcycle.
I will leave gas sit in something for two or three years and it burns fine.
Sometimes longer than that.
Pour it on weeds in the fence row??? Or give it to the BIL
Run Ethanol-free 100% of the time. Start doping w/Sea Foam when I'm getting close to the end of the season so the Sea-Foam is well distributed throughout all the lines and carb-bowl. Fill to the tippy-top prior to going into storage leaving no room for condensation.

My EFI ATV has gas that's probably 2-yrs old in it and it starts/runs just fine.
I only use ethanol free and keep the tank full.

You sure do, don't ya

Fudgepackers own boats?

Is Idaho starting to thaw out???
Just messing with you Vikings

This for me too. Sometimes use StarTron instead of SF, both seem to work well.

You mean you haven't owned a boat this whole time because you thought you weren't allowed?
If it's corn free, it should be good yet. I have to get my boat out of storage and make sure all is well. I've never had a problem with Kwik Trip (local brand) 91 no corn working for a couple of years in boats, chainsaws, trimmer, etc. For what you pay per gallon, it better stay usable for a couple of years.
I had Premium alcohol free gas in my boat tank.I put stabil in it 4 years ago.Took it out this spring and it ran fine.I always run the motor dry before storage.

Why?
Pour that chit out in my gravel driveway and the atmosphere go to work.
Or use it for fire ants and yellow jackets

I've spent more money in the past than I cared to
repairing and replacing fuel lines and fuel system
components because of crap gasoline .
It's way cheaper to me to sh*tcan any left over gas
or drain it out into cans for use in lawn mowers
and such. Stuff that I won't cry over
Fish it year round, no problemo.
I put it through my lawn mower
Marine Stabil works as advertised. I wouldn't use ethanol gas for any small engine for any length big time without it.
Cranked my old boat up a little while ago, 305 ran good.

That's what I do. You seldom have to change a water pump/impellor either when they stay wet.

Prolly canβt do that in the subdivision. ππ€£
Have to take it to city hall for disposal. π€£ππ€£
Hold into the storm drain.
Put some Startron fuel stabilizer in it and go fishing.
If it still smells fresh, run it. If it smells skunky, dispose of it. If it's in between, run it a little at a time in a work truck if you have one.

Has a Subaru sitting in my yard for almost 4 years, 1/2 tank of gas.
Thing ran fine, parked it because it was rusted so bad I was afraid to
haul my kids in it. Took 2 cans of foam and a bunch of duct tape to pass the last inspection.
Anyway, sold it. Guy showed up, stuck a battery in, it fired up.
And after about 30 seconds ran as good as ever.
Cars don't seem too bothered by the old fuel.
It's hell on small engines.
Dads old Ranch Truck sat for two years after he died.
I put in a new battery and fired it up and drove it to town to top off the tank. Ran just fine. Still does.
Thanks for the reply's. Been doing pretty much the same as everyone else. Got to thinking about it, and just wanted to check.
