what is the best thing that you have ever eaten wrapped in Bacon?

better than scallops or Filet Mignon in my opinion...

We rap dove breast in bacon with a jalapeño pepper when we BBQ them after a hunt. Just so they will be edible. 😬

Not wrapped but we were in a bar in Hampton Beach New Hampshire, they served a bucket of thick bacon with a maple habanero sauce that was amazing

Everything is better with bacon.
And everything is better with good chocolate.
The other evening I fried up a couple strips of bacon and put it in a bowl with a small handful of good belgium dark chocolate chips.
A dash of sea salt and there's some good $20/ pound gourmet chocolate for a fraction of the price.

I liked making bacon wrapped jumbo prawns in my air fryer when I had one. Or bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers.

When I cook red beans, or what some call pintos, I always throw in 4 or 5 strips of bacon.

When the bacon’s done, I throw the dove breast away and eat the jalapeño and the bacon.

A local BBQ joint took large Jalapenos, stuffed them with BBQ brisket and jack cheese.
Then wrapped them in bacon and smoked them for 5 hours.
3 bucks each and worth every penny.

Guess I’m odd man out but I don’t prefer much wrapped in bacon. Besides asparagus, I do like that.

To me filet scallops prawns etc all have a delicate and delicious flavor that is all but overpowered by being wrapped in bacon

Yep. I stopped eating dove, mainly b/c it sucks. I much prefer quail.

Made a version of that on the grill (no cheese) just the other day.

it took the better part of my life to descover that about dove. My son had the [bleep] for three days after eating about 100 of them at one sitting.

Dove is our favorite wild bird. Wrap in bacon (or not, both are great), lightly flour with salt and pepper, put in a covered casserole dish with a little cream of chicken soup for moisture, and cook at 350 for a bit. I'll take dove over quail any day and have eaten hundreds of both.

Try frying some bacon and then pitching it in the beans about 30 min before they are done.

That sounds good. Once done, I would remove them from the fryer and unwrap the bacon from the chunk of heart. Take the chunk, throw it in the trash and eat the bacon!

I do however, like lightly floured deer liver fried in bacon grease.

Skinned (not plucked) goose with a woven bacon blanket to replace the skin was pretty damn good. Basted in the juices till near the end to let the bacon crisp up.

I'm the same way for the most part. If I have a choice between a bacon cheeseburger or a plain cheeseburger, I'm taking the cheese burger every time.

I make mixed deer poppers

Marinate in apple cider night before. 3/4”-1” cubes of deer back strap.

Wrap cube with a jalapeño
Wrap another with a sweet banana pepper
Wrap another with a wedge of Vidalia onion
...another with a tomato, mushroom or pineapple, etc

Toothpicks to hold it all together.

Bbq sauce, or other marinade

Looks delicious!
