In general, I think bread is pretty bad for you, like any other processed food. Some versions are worse than others. Whenever I get on a diet kick, I stick to meat, veggies, fruit, nuts, berries, mushrooms etc and drink only water. I always feel much better but I always go back to the convenience stuff and gain the weight back. Definitely have some food addictions.

but yea, I prefer 7 grain bread myself, the pan size loaf you get at Krogers for $2.

All bread is bad except keto bread. I eat very little of any kind. Probably been 4-5 months since I've had a slice.

All things in moderation jake. I Don’t believe bread is inherently bad. TOO MUCH bread is bad, especially the sugary, crap, baked goods. Homemade whole wheat bread is health food.

Big kick now is to avoid all carbs. Balance is key.

But, if one is going to eat bread, why not eat bread that’s got texture, structure and flavor?

I don't eat much bread, but when I do, I eat sourdough bread that I make myself. I've had a starter for almost 30 years.

I love home made bread. I have memories of my youth when my Italian grandmother would call my Dad and say she just baked some bread and we should come over. Her loaves were round and the crust was hard. I can still remember the taste of that hot bread with some butter on it and it was six decades ago.

white bread for bologna tomatoe and mayonaise sandwiches. Fancy bread for everything else.

No mention of Rooshun black bread? It's just course ground rye bread. Its usually flat because it's low in gluten to help it rise.

I've been a fan of real bread since a particular trip to Guaymas when I was a kid. On the way to the docks the first morning my grandad stopped the car and went into a Mexican bakery (what other kinda bakery were we gonna find in Mejico?) and came out with a big bag of fresh, hard rolls. When he got back in the car he handed me one of those rolls then reached into the ice chest and handed me a beer. "That's your breakfast." And damn if it wasn't really good! Had a great time fishing down there.

We don't eat much bread but when we do it is thin sliced Dave's 21 grain Killer Bread. It ain't cheap but given how much we eat it just works.
