So Columbus Day is out, Indigenous Peoples Day is the new replacement.
How shall I show my support for these wronged Indigenous peoples on this special day?

After some long hard thought I've decided I should go to the Seminole Hardrock Casino, have a couple drinks and waste a hundred in a slot machine.

This should cover any debt I may own.

For my Montana friends, I think you could get by with running over to Browning and buying a gram of crack from the first street peddler you see...

Farwell Chris....

If "indigenous people" means Indians, consider this. Those American Indians were still in the stone age when the rest of the known world was living in the Industrial age. They completely missed the Bronze age and the Iron Age. They murdered each other and killed off their major food and construction material source then got pissed off at people wanting to move onto land they only migrated through.

Hope she enjoys her Columbus day at work.

Don’t even get me started on the Vikings.

Same thing with the Clovis folks.

And Kennewick man’s was rolling in his grave for what? 12,000 years?

I told some black and Puerto Rican acquaintances the other day that if the reign of the white man is coming to an end they got a pretty heavy ball to pick up and run with.

We were navigating the earth around the time they figured out how to open a banana.

Don’t forget the humble indigenous people’s wonderful practices of slavery, cannibalism, child rape, torture, human sacrifice , stealing lands, displacing refugees and treating their women as second class citizens.

Federal Holiday.

Going to mail a chronograph for kids package, go shooting, then I'm gonna make a dutch oven lid lifter out of some rebar in the shop for the scout troop.

After coffee.

Ain't anyone "indigenous" anywhere in sight....

And it was used in ads promoting the need to clean up our lands.
Makes it even more ironic considering the condition of lands surrounding many reservations in this country today.

Just trust me, Columbus drove a boat, literally, not in the prospective of how a Plymouth or Desoto can also be referred to as a boat.

He landed in the Bahamas but was all fucered up and thought he'd found East Asia.
Not sure if he split his cock on a rock there or not, more likely it'd of been coral in that region.

One has to start somewhere, for experience. If they don't have anything, likely they can't kill you, so it's a safe activity.

Rape, pillage, and burn is the commonly held order.

But maybe not the best. Remember the part in the Bible when Whosis forbade any of that stuff to his minions going into a fight? Those would be a distraction from winning and would possibly endangering the battel outcome. Discipline, Man, discipline!

Secure the objective first, then the individual fun stuff.

Hey, you didn't think that order was made out of compassion, did you?

Ive been on several reservations and this is always the recurring theme. But they’re at one with the earth! Used to spend a lot of time in BC. White man gets to catch only a couple of salmon. The indians will gill net the entire bleeping river! One guy I worked with caught over 2000# of salmon over a weekend doing it. “Those fish are belonging to us, it’s our way of life”. Along with the massive drug and alcohol usage on the rez. AND up there, they don’t pay any taxes! But they sure get all the bennies.

These "indigenous" types are empty-headed, ahistorical rent-seekers. Hadn't even figured out beasts of burden, much less the wheel. Still hadn't figured out the horse after 200 years, come to think of it?

Period.
Indians walked across the Bering Straits when frozen, alledgedly, so what's the difference we came by boat, they came on foot!!

Columbus was the first government sponsored expedition—there were Basque fishermen who knew about Newfoundland in the 1450’s.
And— by about 1200AD Polynesians had already settled every island in the Pacific with fresh water. Did that with crab-claw sailed pontoon boats without a compass.

The celebration of a Wop subcontractor blundering into Central America with a 500 year old Norwegian map, with financing from the Spanish Crown ...has always escaped me.
Also, I have very little sympathy for the American Indian (or Latino, or African, or Jew) since they have repeatedly chosen to cast their lot with the Democratic Party...exchanging their pride, self sufficiency, self respect in exchange for free stuff. Before the great Indian welfare state began, I worked the logging industry for years with Indian co-workers, great workers, good men, good friends. Giveaways have destroyed that maybe forever. Welfare in it's various forms killed far more Indians than the US Army ever did.

That picture ^ ^ ^ of a rez dump can't be right.
There's not any nearly new refrigerators or
washing machines or outboard motors

I stole this from a movie- James Garner?

"They should be grateful we don't charge them for all those centuries they squatted on our land". smile
