Hats off to Oldmanofthesea for finding the parallel between Biden and Clement Attlee. The current Democrat Party is plunging headlong into the same agenda the Attlee and his Labour Party took Great Britain into after WW II. Like 1945, we are emerging from a tumultuous period of world history that has caused significant world change. Both have caused major reorganization in economies and social structure. Clement Attlee put into motion the Socialization of Britain, and Biden/Pelosi/Schumer are hell bent to do the same hear.
First , the inspired quote from our own member:
close, probably Atlee after UKs post WWII Socialist Prime Minister..
they had lots of shortages back then too.
Yes, none other than the post War leader of Great Britain - Clement Attlee!
Attlee was a socialist/Labour leader of Great Britain from the end of WW II to 1951. The Brits (incredibly) dumped Churchill at the end of the war jumping to the idea of socialism and give-a-ways. In reviewing Attlee, I find an eerie parallel to today's Democrat Party in America and the Biden administration.
For those interested in a little history lesson and enlightenment, I've put together little comparison. Those with short attention spans or no interest in such, please just move along. Once again, I thank Oldmanofthesea for making the connection. He is inspired!
First, let's look at quotes by Attlee and see if you find them in today's American Democrat.
When we are returned to power we want to put in the statute book an act which will make our people citizens of the world before they are citizens of this country.
We have absolutely abandoned any idea of nationalist loyalty. We are deliberately putting a world order before loyalty to our own country.
Winston Churchill - fifty per cent genius, fifty per cent bloody fool.
Fifty percent of Winston is genius, fifty percent bloody fool. He will behave like a child.
(I can see a Progressive saying the same of Trump as a nod to his effectiveness, and a knock on his style)
The real test of one's belief in the doctrine of Habeas Corpus is not when one demands its application on behalf of one's friends but of one's enemies.
(Gitmo, anyone??)
It is dangerous to play politics with the Budget.
(Hear that, Pelosi?)
For a deeper look into what Attlee and his Party did to Socialize Great Britain let's
take a look at Attlee's agenda as the Socialist PM of Britain 1945-51.
Can you find the parallels between his admin and Biden's?

Quote
Domestic policy
The Attlee government was committed to rebuilding British society as an ethical commonwealth, using public ownership and controls to abolish extremes of wealth and poverty.
Wokeism and wealth redistribution.
Healthcare
NHS. This was a publicly funded healthcare system, which offered treatment free of charge for all at the point of use.
Obamacare and Medicare for all
Welfare
The government set about implementing the wartime plans of Liberal William Beveridge for the creation of a "cradle to grave" welfare state.
Universal income, high minimum wage
Housing
The Attlee government also extended the powers of local authorities to requisition houses and parts of houses, and made the acquisition of land less difficult than before.[97] The Housing (Scotland) Act 1949 provided grants of 75 per cent (87.5 per cent in the Highlands and Islands) towards modernisation costs payable by Treasury to local authorities.[98]
In 1949, local authorities were empowered to provide people suffering from poor health with public housing at subsidised rents.[99]
Can't evict for non rent payment. Homeless takeover of cities
Women and children
A number of reforms were embarked upon to improve conditions for women and children. In 1946, universal family allowances were introduced to provide financial support to households for raising children.
Extended family leave and universal child care
Workers' rights
Various measures were carried out to improve conditions in the workplace. Entitlement to sick leave was greatly extended, and sick pay schemes were introduced for local authority administrative, professional and technical workers in 1946 and for various categories of manual workers in 1948.[113] Worker's compensation was also significantly improved.[114]
Education
The Attlee government ensured provisions of the Education Act 1944 were fully implemented, with free secondary education becoming a right for the first time. Fees in state grammar schools were eliminated, while new, modern secondary schools were constructed.[147]
The school leaving age was raised to 15 in 1947, an accomplishment helped brought into fruition by initiatives such as the HORSA ("Huts Operation for Raising the School-leaving Age") scheme and the S.F.O.R.S.A. (furniture) scheme.[148] University scholarships were introduced to ensure that no one who was qualified "should be deprived of a university education for financial reasons,"
(Free college, forgive student loans??)
Energy
1947 proved a particularly difficult year for the government; an exceptionally cold winter that year caused coal mines to freeze and cease production, creating widespread power cuts and food shortages. The Minister of Fuel and Power, Emanuel Shinwell was widely blamed for failing to ensure adequate coal stocks, and soon resigned from his post.
