Like a typical drone, but larger, and with the controls inside the cockpit instead of held by the guy on the ground. They started making vehicles like this in the 1980s (Popular Mechanics did an article back then demonstrating and discussing them), and they were set to catch on like wildfire, when the FAA declared that you will need a pilot's license to operate one, and that its operation will be restricted by their regulations. That's why we don't all commute to our jobs in them today, like on The Jetsons.

It catches everyone's attention, but the plain fact is, most people are unable to fly them without killing themselves.
Kinda takes the allure out of something when the reality of surviving hits.
