I never was too impressed, their music wasn’t all that great to dance to. I don’t care for women singers for the most part. I really don’t care for Reba.

Dave ducks head for incoming bullets.
Pop pop pop ...raty tat raty taty taty taty ,,...raty taty... I like some Wimins Country singers.
Dottie was good. Didn’t really “hit her stride” until the mid-late 70’s, when she was older.
Janie Fricke had lots of hits. Most folks don’t mention her much, these days, but she had a HECK of a voice (lots of great duets/backup with Vern Gosdin/Johnny Duncan/etc, as well).
Reba could sing, but most of her material STINKS. You Lift Me Up (to Heaven)/Somebody Should Leave/Whoever’s in New England, is about the only stuff I can listen to.
Gail Davies was under-rated. Wrote some great stuff, too. Unfortunately, she looked 50 when she was 30. Kinda puts the damper on a career, when you’re competing against Emmylou, Dolly, and Crystal...
"Maybe this will make you think I'm crazy Honey, don't feel lonesome if you do.. If you want to make this young man happy I'd sure like to spend the night with you.."
Sounds like something I once said to a cutie in a bar room.
One reason I like Janie is I had a guy on another forum, he was a long haul trucker, and he talked about being out on the road, late one night, he was behind the Janie Fricke tour bus. Janie was on the CB! He spent a half hour having a back-and-forth with Janie, and she was telling dirty jokes !
I used to be an over the road truck driver and I could vividly imagine being in that situation.
Dan Seals was a cousin to my first Batschitt Crazy redheaded ex Wife
Met him several times. One of the nicest and most humble guys you’d ever meet. His big brother Jimmy Seals, of Seals and Croft fame, was kind of a jerk. Their cousin Brady Seals, was in the Band, Little Texas
one of my favorite songs... but David Frizzell was one weird looking dude to me....Shelly was gorgeous and he looked like some sort of Honky Tonk Troll.
I liked Kenny Rogers music from his first stuff on. Then I saw him in concert when he was touring with Dolly. I was a stuckup POS that was all full of himself. People in front tried to shake his hand or give him flowers and he just blew them off refusing to get close, he would get mad and wave them off. Dolly on the other hand came down on the front row, received flowers and gifts and shook hands, and talked with folks.

Neal Diamond was like that too, he would shake hands, even talk to people on someone’s cell in the audience. I thought that was so cool.
