FEMA reminds you to be sure to wear your mask and maintain social distancing.

"Try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household. If possible, wear a mask if you’re sheltering with people who are not a part of your household. Children under two years old, people who have trouble breathing, and those who are unable to remove masks on their own should not wear them."

I kinda figured we'd be shooting people who are not part of our household, cause they'll be trying to get whatever you have.

So long as you're masked, that's OK.

Don't forget the 6 foot perimeter.
Be sure to duct tape clear plastic to seal all windows. Er, wait....wrong war.

I agree except for the limitations. If there’s ever been a prime chance to kill loser relatives, it would be the end of the world. I refuse to be limited to shooting non blood relatives.

Well the covid19 fear campaign is failing because the truth slipped out ,despite the maximum efforts leveraged against those that resist the lies. -

---so now they need some new thing to make cowards duck, cover and OBEY them. New fear makes millions fail to remember that the voice-box that is telling them to be afraid is the same one that always lies to them in the past.

I remember stop drop and cover from 60 years ago, is it still valid???
I'm close enough to the silos it will be over quickly for us. I'm not sure I want to wait out the aftermath anyway.

As long as you're wearing a face diaper, you're cool.
Posted By: blanket Re: In case of nuclear war - 02/28/22
Depends on if those silos are a threat, hopefully they have launched and no longer a first strike target
Posted By: blanket Re: In case of nuclear war - 02/28/22
Figure the targets will still be the East coast same as it always was
Posted By: Ranger99 Re: In case of nuclear war - 02/28/22
It's been a while since I've known anyone connected
with that kind of stuff, from what I understood
the firecrackers we all have will flatten everything
70 miles out from ground zero. Way more juice
than the hiroshima snap caps.
That's been a few years ago when I had friends
in AF and SAC , like before grenada

DFW, Houston, SA, Abilene, El Paso/NM / Ft Bliss

fine nuclear war, I don't want it, but I hope we fire every one of our nukes, we will die yes.......................just not alone. For this to stop someone needs to slipup behind him with a 9mm..........even though I prefer a 40 caliber

Who knows?
There used to be some silos in Arkansas and
Missouri. There's some old ones about 20 minutes
east of here, but they're old and obsolete and
the firecrackers are long gone
Posted By: Ranger99 Re: In case of nuclear war - 02/28/22
I don't know the exact nature of what it was,
a General Dynamics I think, but there used to
be a place east of here with one of the Air Force 1
planes there. They'll probably get one too

I'm sure there'll be some pleased at the thought of
when Edwards and Vandenberg gets theirs, it'll
likely finish the work that the San Andreas started
and the new west coast will be east of the Sierras
around mid Arizona

Imagine the complete decay of society that would occur. Not Mad Max. Not The Road. It would be far worse because of the huge numbers of people that would be running lawless.

The South would be hit by the human catastrophe. Especially if the event occurred during a cold season.

Texas already has a huge human population. Assuming distribution and power systems are disrupted:
1) people would drift south for warmth.
2) people would leave cities AND suburbs looking for food and water. Imagine Phoenix or with no water and food.
3) borders would be non existent. Ironically there may be a migration into Mexico.
4) "martial law" would be in effect at every level. I could even see interstate wars breaking out over distribution and movement restrictions.

One good thing is that the Internet would be down.

Tactical battlefield nukes are low yield air burst weapons and I doubt any nukes would be use in Ukraine.

Don't forget manufacturing locations! I'm an hour outside of Detroit. From what I understand we've always been a target because of all the manufacturing plants that can changeover to tanks and planes and other military toys. Military bases don't produce any of the toys they play with!

I heard Putin's strategic plan is to leave that area untouched hoping GM becomes a supplier of military equipment. LOL

Won't happen - even though our people are drumming it up just like they did this whole fiasco. Looking for the storyline that FJB pulled us back from the brink.

MAD is real from all sides involved.
Posted By: OldHat Re: In case of nuclear war - 02/28/22
MAD provides a lot of deterrence, true enough.

The scenario people worry about is a gradual escalation which reaches critical mass. Russia has battlefield nukes because they believe they can be used sparingly EXACTLY because of MAD. So if Russia reasons that the world fears MAD so much that even it were to use tactical nukes we would not escalate, and then the US who does not have battlefield nukes.and gets worried about first strike advantage.

Bad things can follow.

Don't worry you can watch DVR reruns of Yellowstone and buy a case of bourbon.

The prices we pay for living where we choose. People all to often forget that in life. The life picture is way bigger and a single snap shot.

We choose to live in Alaska as much as we can. 45 minutes from a first strike missile defense base. Wonder how safe that is? For the tradeoffs its worth it to us.
