If true, my guess is that he would have been better off going in after the purchase in stealth mode so that the employees do not sabotage the platform. Have an IT SWAT team ready to move in to lock everything down, and simultaneously have a fire drill and lock out in-office people. Then let people come in under guard to remove their stuff. Musk is smart. He’s setting up Twitter to be the true definition of a platform vs a publisher. Then nudge the government to finish what they started a few years ago - and remove protection from the publishers. Voila - Twitter survives and the others fail due to the liabilities associated with being a publisher.

It’s all about the advertising and tracking money. A true capitalist move - nothing more. Put on top of that that he can bypass the FCC and all of the big telecom companies and offer Twitter through Starlink and he has the ability to stay in business if they try to “cancel” Twitter.
