Maybe we need a voter registration tax.

That's make their heads explode.
Would not pass constitutional muster.

Chief justice Roberts basically said a tax is ok when the Obamacare thing happened. You think he would change his mind on evil guns?

LOVE IT!

The way I see it...

... is that the right people already have them, and if push comes to shove, the wrong people won't be able to afford them.

When the political pendulum swings back, repeal would be a great platform plank.

So, NI.

Problem is if it were to pass, it will embolden them to do more. Fug em!!!
ANY power to tax is the power to control.

Ie.
LBJ offered tax Exemption to the Churches, as if he had authority over God's institution or the freedom to assemble.
Just about all took the bait. Strings now attached as the line to the pole.

Property tax was another invention that was sold as a reasonable little bit of nothing. Now, if you don't pay thousands every year, they steal it.

If a one ¢ tax is enacted, they will eventually enforce the stealing of every one by force.....unless you are their enforcers. It will unfortunately be "Law enforcement" .

I have one of those BUG-A-SALT guns that the S.O.B.'s would probably tax also. Well; it is deadly, ( to flies).

If you think about it, the $200 tax stamp was about 1/4 the average yearly income for an American in 1934. If that wasn’t unconstitutional, why would a $20,000 tax in today’s dollars?

I think this is right.

You can have a minimal tax on a fundamental right, but not one that is designed to chill the right.

It was called a Poll Tax. Keyword “was”. Courts struck it down. Been gone quite a while. But yeah, they’d squeal like the little pigs they are.

Graham and others have already stated that they are ready to vote for whatever Gun Control legislation the Dems want.

Add this to their list.

Yes, that guy, the same guy that still wields a big stick and doesn’t care or need to care about We The People or the constitution, so what’s your point.

Then, like I said - political suicide... Things like that will help to sweep the Dems into the realm of the Dodo bird..

Chit like this makes me feel lucky that I am as old as I am and got to enjoy freedoms that the next few generations may never get to experience.

It's clearly infringement.

I can remember my parents, in the early 1950's, talking about being sure they paid their "poll tax"!
It was "designed" to keep poor black people from voting....and guess what? It was enacted by (D)'s!

24th Amendment eliminated the poll tax.

So if you replace the pistol grip and forearm with walnut and have the receiver a gloss black is it still an "assault rifle"? It is pretty easy to change the looks of a plain, birch stock 10-22.

We need a DemocRat Tax....

If you are a democRat, then 95% of your income is taxes...

of course, fewer democRats work than those who don't...

too many democRats are welfare bums, making up most of the DNCC supporting groups....

And in many cases they've been entirely successful.. Inch by inch.
Even if I had one I wouldn't pay crap.

Foundational law:

#1. You can't tax a right because the power to tax is the power to destroy. Rights are not granted by Government but are given by God. Government can't usurp God's power (unless people fail at foundational principal #2 below.)

#2 Failure to assert a right in timely fashion is fatal and waives the right.

#3 All lawful taxation can only be levied on privilege's and never on rights.

So going along with unlawful taxation is the sigh of ignorance and/or cowardice.

(Note: It's the Bill of RIGHTS, not a bill of privileges. All cops should understand theses principals of law , but VERY FEW do)
