To get a criminal search warrant the government needs to identify 1. specific item to be seized 2. specific location of that item and 3. the item is at that location at that moment.

You get that info a couple ways. Wire tap or a source giving real time intel to LE.

I believe this is disinformation. From what I've read, the Trump team has been working with the FBI for months.

They’re corrupt which means they’re unwilling to do what is their job according to the law but that doesn’t mean that if given the resources to do what they as an institution “want” to do that they’re incapable. I think they’ll be an amazingly efficient KGB-style servant to the establishment.

In addition to a fishing expedition for some doc that might incriminate him or indicate that he has some classified stuff under improper conditions ("look what I just found"), my view is that the main (and unannounced) purpose was to find something - anything - that would add some energy or give new life to the now failed exercise on the Jan 6 activities.
