Picked up a spare truck yesterday, drove it home 2 hrs and my eyes are burning, sneezing, stuffy nose etc..

Drove it again today, same thing. Only thing that does that to me is Fugkin cats. They detailed it at the dealer, guess I’ll let it sit with the windows down for a few days? No visible cat hair so just guessing that’s what it is.
Did they put more of that "New Car Smell Good Schiett" in for your benefit?
Does it have a cabin air filter?
Cocaine ,LOL

I’m sure, hasn’t thought about that. Had AC blasting coming down the interstate too.
Thanks!

It didn’t smell like cocoa butter and vanilla air freshener so I was happy.
It’s God punishing you for hiring wets.
Let it sit with the windows down is cat magnet. Squirrels too.
Did they use Scotchgard, or something similar, on the seats? That stuff really gets me until it fully dries. Similar symptoms (and very noticeable) to what you described.

If God has a list of things I should be punished for, that’s like #117 if their in order from worst to least.

No clue, how long does it take to dry. It’s been 30 hrs now.
Lemme guess, a Chevy?

No problem with outside cats. Had a stray I fed at the shop, and he kept the mice and swallows at bay.
Just can’t be in confined spaces with them.
Used truck? Could have belonged to a smoker. I can’t spend any time in a vehicle that’s been smoked in before my nose is running, I start sneezing…

Definitely no smoke smell. Smoked 2 packs a day for years until 2000. I’m still sensitive as scheit to that smell.

My wife once sprayed our living room furniture with it and for a couple days (probably a weekend) it aggravated me. Not as intense but felt similar to the CS / pepper gas we used in the military.

Possible then. That’s what I’m dealing with. Eyes on fire.

Maybe you’re allergic to rice?
Seriously now, looks like a nice pickup.

Years ago we bought a used tractor. The previous owner smoked mini cigars and we knew this going into the deal.

Anyway, it stunk so we blasted it with some high powered chit called Ozone something or other. That de-odorizer was worse that the smoke! Took a week of open windows to clear it out.

This spring we bought another used tractor and same deal, the dealer used some sort of de-odor chit and I would get sick running that thing for more than 10 minutes or so.

Air it out and I bet it goes away.

Must’ve misread your original post. I thought you said truck.
I had one that did that to me some years ago. There was a tiny leak in the refrigerant system that was bleeding into the cab.

Ouch!
Then all's good until she watches Mandango.😎
Many times the box for cabin air filter just gets checked cause they are sometimes a pain in the butt to get to, and they don't want to spend the 10 minutes it takes. So, they figure if they don't see it, nobody else will.

Or they actually did change it, and used one of those treated filters with the scent crap on it.

It’s getting replaced in the AM. Windows are all down now. Going to Hatteras in a few weeks so gotta get this sorted out before then.

Get a couple of boxes of baking soda... smash them around in the carpet etc.

Shop vac a day or two later.

Might be the heater core also... check levels.
Cats are bad news for me. If we’re going to the house of someone that has a cat, I’ll usually do OK for a while if I take some Actifed beforehand.

Years ago I was helping a bud skin and bone out a deer. When we finished we went inside for an cool adult beverage and after about 15-20 minutes his wife asked me, “what’s wrong with your eyes?” My question for her was, “y’all have a cat?” But I knew the answer..it was a Siamese which seems to affect me the worst.

Except that it’s not a ford, so I’ll drive it 300,000 miles and never do anything but routine maintenance. LOL.

Nothing special, a ’14 limited with 80k on the clock that’ll save me $15k in taxes at the end of the year and easier to find a parking spot than my dually 9’ service bed daily driver.

You could probably even get laid if you owned that truck.

You can haul everything two people need to go from TN to Montana to elk hunt in the back seat, cable lock the coolers to bring them back in the bed. Pulls my tractor on a 20' trailer and I can't even tell it is there.

Loves a gas pump but will run like a stiped ass ape. Rides pretty good too.
