Found this out when trying to get what I really need and wanted to include pics.:

Assembling Boss 27 Ton log splitter. There are red plastic inserts in the unattatched ends of the 2 hydrawlic lines, and one on the port at the bottom of the pump. The other port was open. But then it was missing a k-pin("spring pin"' for the swivel, also...

They look like shipping plugs to me, but I'm not taking them out until I know they aren't seals. Of course they are closed for the day, and who knows when I'll get an e-mail answer back from them. No reference at all to them in the instructions or on-line.

Anyone among you know, for sure?

Those pieces of plastic keep the lines free of particle contamination and protect the threads.

This has happened to me. But I like IMGUR.
Try to sign out of IMGUR, then, sign back in.

OK - one on bottom of pump definitely a plug! Still not trusting the others quite yet.

Ok…what do you think they’d hide in hydraulic lines?

You’re gonna have to remove them before they can be connected.

Don’t get too impatient…make sure you put oil in the engine…
