Visiting my youngest son in SE Texas and meeting my first grandchild, another boy. We just chowed down chili verde I made today per request. Sipping a martini now. I will work a couple of projects at his house as he is tied up big time in refinery turnaround mode.

Thought about going to town, then thought better of it. Have supplies & no longer forced to punch in. Love being home most of the time.

Nice day here with a high of about 75* and almost no wind. Went shooting for a bit with a new Sig P210, a S&W J-frame in 32 long, and slightly reduced loads in a new (to me) German MKV 300 Weatherby.

Went wheels up at 5 to get to high school "tailgate". Slammed a few waters and 3/4 # pulled pork and then onto homecoming football game. Nice night.

Good temperatures here good temperatures here 40's in the morning to mid 70s in the afternoon spent most of my day in a skid steer. Way too dry we could use an inch a day for at least a couple weeks well a week to 10 days..

I put in a solid 14 today. My team is doing response work in the wake of Ian so it has been a busy few days and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.

Finally finished chopping corn yesterday at 4:30 - first time I've been home before 7 pm in three weeks... Now just four more days of high moisture corn using the snap head and I'm DONE for the year.. I'm so tired I can hardly see straight..

I missed the rental apt with all 4 beetle killed trees I dropped yesterday. Didn[t fuup much of anything else either.

I'm calling that a win.

Tikkanut: Great day yesterday - did some Antelope scouting and got my allowance ($1,000.00) for the month (last business day of the month!) from the VarmintWife.
Today will be more Antelope scouting, gun chasing and then hosting a couple overnight from out of town.
Retired life is SO good.
