Got a notice that I have a couple hundred dollars in Cabellas points that will
expire end of year.

Had been letting them build, hoping to maybe buy binos I'm too tight
to put dollars on. They have went downhill, don't buy much...

Anyone have one of their pro vac sealers?
Are they worth the premium?
Description indicates a cooling fan and almost unlimited duty cycle.
That true?

Or should I just squander the money and get a chamber later?

Get a chamber later and do as you wish with the points.

I eventually got a chamber sealer after suffering suction vacuum sealers for a number of years. Wish I had made that choice much earlier.

I have one to replace several foodsavers that were hit or miss on reliability. The Cabelas is slightly better, however I have not tested it with several hundred salmon at Chitina yet. I think I would still need a backup...

I did buy a LEM chamber sealer from Costco, did some salmon for a friend decided it was slow and Alaska butcher supply has some that are just a bit bigger.... so I returned it, thank you Costco.....
Lol

I would lean towards a chamber sealer, they are heavy and no fun to pack around.

We used many, many Foodsavers in the past and had three of them to prevent the problems with overheating. Finally bought the MVS 31X from Alaska Butcher Supply in Anchorage. It wasn't cheap but we've used it for many years and our boys and their families have also. We've done hundreds and hundreds of Chitna reds and hundreds of Kenai reds, plus many moose and caribou. My wife and I buy large slabs of beef chuck and top sirloin and have it ground for burger, we use it to package the burger. Best investment I've ever made! I change the oil once a year and have never had a problem.
