They have no peer, or equal on the dinner table IMO. Meat doesn't get any better than cast iron grilled axis backstrap in garlic butter and a generous amount of SPG...

I completely agree Johnny. Nothing better on the table and can be a very challenging hunt as well.

I have to try Axis one day. I have heard that it is outstanding.
Posted By: SamOlson Re: Axis Steaks - 01/17/23
Not to be a hijack dick but organic, homegrown tri-tip is also edible.
(jealous because we don't have any Axis and I'd really like to try it.....care package???)

I put it second to Dall, but I’m biased.

Looks edible.

Sam I've been a beef man for as long as I can remember. I'm not really a pork or chicken fan but I'll eat both from time to time. I love a good steak but a fresh piece of Axis backstrap on the grill is as good as it gets for me.

OBTW that tri tip looks incredible as well!
Posted By: SamOlson Re: Axis Steaks - 01/17/23
Elk, per my edit I'm jealous!

We're spoiled....

Looks awesome. Love me some tri tip too. It's time for me to replenish my axis meat supply. If/when I do I'll see what I can do to get you some to try SamO.
