My wife was just admitted tonight and is having emergency gall bladder surgery in the morning. All is supposed to go smoothly as this isn't uncommon but we all know sometimes it doesn't go smoothly.

As previously said - gall bladder surgery is commonplace.
After Dad had his out, he stated - "I'm only sorry I didn't have it done 40 years ago!".
Though, at that time, the gall bladder wasn't suspect in his "belly problems"

I had it done about 15 years ago. Walked out of the hospital about 3 hours afterwards.

I will be praying for everything to go great. I had this done 6 weeks ago. I had to stay a few days because mine had turned gangrene. Doc said the swelling had shut off the blood supply. Weird. I had no prior symptoms until I got this tremendous pain. But it all went well.

We're just waiting to be released now, surgery went great the nurse said. I guess she thought she was at a spa when she came to. It's tender and she's never had anesthesia so just taking it slow. Thank you for the calls and texts for those who sent them and for the well wishes and prayers here, they are very appreciated. Sounds like the next week or two is gonna be tender but she already feels better.

Will do. I have done anesthesia for perhaps a thousand +/-. Nothing is risk free but for an otherwise healthy person, as mentioned it’s a pretty routine and safe procedure.
Presuming she’s having it done laparoscopically it’s also a quick recovery.
My wife had it done about six years ago.
