What's the deal? Any good?? Did Yakina Curnutt eat them???
I like em, they're good with boiled chittlerlings as an appetizer
I like them. Don’t often eat them because anywhere you get them they’re liable to be way too salty for my tastes and blood pressure
Peanuts are only good when they are turned into butter...and even then, they can be underwhelming.
Really good for those with no teeth.
I had a friend who always said how good boiled peanuts were. He left me a container of freshly made boiled goobers. Me never eating boiled goobers before was not sure how to proceed, did one eat them like pumpkin seed, shell and all or were you supposed to crack and enjoy the insides. Well I chose to eat whole. The shells were soft and salty after being boiled. Plenty of fiber! A few days later I seen my friend and was talking about his gift of boiled goobers. It was then that I learned that the shells were supposed to be cracked and discarded! I can honestly say that eating the shell and all was not bad with a bonus of unclogging the bowels.

Thx for the input👍
Not really a fan of them, but that's just me. I work with a guy that eats David sunflower seeds whole, puts them in his mouth and chews them up.
I like them with some Cajun seasoning in the boil, but none of them taste like what most folks think a peanut tastes like. If you try your first one with that in mind, it goes better.
Had never had them before, this was probably 40 years ago. Went down to Terrell County, GA to hunt on a buddy’s lease. Kept seeing these “stands” along the road and finally asked, “what the hell is a boiled peanut?” Being a Georgia boy, he of course laughed, then stopped at a stand he liked. They were still warm, paper bag was soggy, I was not convinced until I tried them. Holee Schitt - damn near Nirvana!
Any time I’ve been in that area since, I’m always hitting a few of the stands along the way.
I giv9 them too thambs up!

I’ve seen 2 Yankees try to eat boiled crawfish in the same manner.

Now that is a scary thought seeing his cooking and photography...
In Dixie you’re introduced to them by age 3,enjoying them with a large glass of sweet tea.By 17,the tea is replaced with cold beer and get togethers called “peanut boils”.They’re pretty popular in my neck of the woods…

Especially when boiled with the addition of liquid crab boil and allowed to soak until they sink.
Love homemade boiled peanuts but the ones you get at convenience stores will turn you against them. They’re way too soft and slimy from sitting in hot water 24-7. Hot boiled peanuts are sold a lot of places in NC and SC.
To make the best tasting boiled peanuts,
Take some fresh and washed green peanuts, when they are in season, put them in a pot, cover with water and boil until the nut is still a little firm. Add salt (to taste) to the water and stir until salt is dissolved, set off the burner and let cool. As the peanuts cool the salty water will be drawn into the shell.
Hard to beat good boiled peanuts and a cool one on a fall evening.
Boiled liberals are more entertaining.
Disgusting waste of a good peanut.
A delicious southern treat. Don’t get the store bought ones. Find a roadside vender; they’ll appreciate your business. My wife and son love them. We don’t eat the hulls, they go in the compost pile. We used to buy from a elderly
Korean woman who would set up on Saturdays. We would buy from her and Bubba outside Union MS. Bubba usually had a gumbo pot on a fish fryer going and was boiling up a fresh batch. Great for the deer stand. I remember singing a Civil War song in elementary school bout eating goober peas. Totally non PC these days. Trying to erase our history. Do your part by eating boiled peanuts!
I like em as a savory southern treat
Best boiled peanuts are boiled green, before being dried. Dried and boiled is only better than no boiled peanuts at all. Salt should always be in moderation. By the way, peanut harvest and doves go together. Great dove shoots over peanut fields.
Southern caviar. It’s a delicacy.
Yak Canutt woulda kicked John Wayne square in the yam bag for a sack of properly bowled pee-nuts.
Anyone who pronounces it "bowled" knows what the heck he's talkin' about.

Here in eastern NC, it's "bald".

And has diabetes and a size 46 waist.
I like em, they're good with boiled chittlerlings as an appetizer
Goddam some boiled chitlins the mrs eats em fuqk that fried is the only way
Love ‘em. I haven’t boiled any in a long time. If you can find or make good ones, once you start eating them it’s hard to stop. You want them somewhere between mushy and crunchy (how’s that for specific? 😁) and it takes time. It’s OK to suck on the shells but I’ve never heard of eating them. 🥜
It’s baweld. If you hear the “I” when someone says it, “they’re not from around here” 😁

Growing up,
My me-maws church had once a year reunion / dinner on the grounds…
Mind you, this was a country Baptist church.
Everyone cooked, even those that shouldn’t have. 😂😂
Only time I’ve eaten chit’lins…
Plate looked like a pile of chicken tenders. 😂😂
