Should Junior Bush seek another term?

It?s obvious listening to chatter Junior Bush does not have a prayer being reelected for his second term. Considering the Republicans national convention is right around the corner, shouldn?t Junior Bush be a true patriots like president Richard Nixon, LBJ and put his country first by announcing he will not seek another term?
Larry, Care to make a wager on who gets elected? Say a thousand bucks to the charity of choice? TM
"History According to Larry" strikes again.

Nixon was elected to a second term. In case you didn't know, that's the limit. Nixon resigned in 1974.

I guess I missed the part where Nixon announced he wouldn't be seeking a third term.
I seem to missing so many funny posts that I'm tempted to take Larry off "Ignore"
But on second thought............ain't gonna happen!
"Nixon was elected to a second term. In case you didn't know, that's the limit. Nixon resigned in 1974."

During my lifetime the only three presidents that did not complete or run for their second term was JFK,LBJ and president Richard Nixon that resigned in disgraces over Watergate. All others like Gerald Ford first term, Jimmy Carter, senior Bush ran for their second terms and they all lost.

Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon both put the country first over their personal agendas. Johnson did not run for his second term knowing he did not have public support and Nixon resigned before being impeach. They were both true patriots.
HEY LARRY!!! WAKE UP!!! I am still waiting for an answer on the other thread. Why do you consider me a freerider and an undesirable? miles

Just one more case of larry not having a clue what he is talking about. Nixon was elected in 1968 and 1972 and resigned in 1974. miles

Larry,

Your history knowlege is grim, dude.

LBJ was inept at commander-in-chief, and made matters worse by micro-managing and politicizing the Vietnam war to an unprecedented level of incompetence. He knew he would get his azz kicked in '68 and found himself a hole to crawl into.

Although, it seems to figure that LBJ would be a hero of yours.
I seem to remember Ronald Reagan winning and serving out his second term. I also seem to remember Bill Clinton winning a second term and serving out his second term. LBJ didnt seek a second term because he realized his gross mistake in Vietnam. I also remember Nixon finally getting us out of Vietnam.

I am also really enjoying the growth I am again getting out of my 401K program under Bush JR. I also remember how my 401 K went into the toilet under the Bill Clinton administration.
If money talks, then I am forced to vote for Bush Jr. Oh darn it anyway.

(and by the way, do you remember that the economy finally began improving under Bush SR?, Do you remember how Bush Sr payed dearly with his read my lips, no new taxes, and under pressure from your Democrats, he gave in to them which was supposed to be under good faith, and you democrats crucified Bush SR for "going along with your tax increase"????? Do you remember that, or are you just another little political pawn of the democratic party? Ever noticed it is always you democrats that want to tax Americans to death? And here is a clue, when you define rich Americans, do your homework, most of us are hard working Americans, middle class, and yet, you seem hell bent on reducing our quality of life, to support people who never wanted to work anyway, and simply have their hand out)
"LBJ was inept at commander-in-chief, and made matters worse by micro-managing and politicizing the Vietnam war to an unprecedented level of incompetence. He knew he would get his azz kicked in '68 and found himself a hole to crawl into."

What part did I have wrong ? LBJ was inserted as commander-in-chief because JFK was assassinated and finished out that term. Then was qualified to run for two more consecutive terms. The fact the matter is those responsible for the Vietnam screw up, was the people that originally put JFK in office. One of the biggest fears back in JFK's run for president by the religious conservatives was having a Catholic for president. In 2020 hindsight they were justified in their fears because it became reality in Vietnam and many years that followed.
Yeah, the economy was really bad under Clinton. I really hated it when I came home and saw my 401k had only increased $500 a day. I'll take the 20 grand I lost during the Bush years anytime.

"Larry, Care to make a wager on who gets elected? Say a thousand bucks to the charity of choice?"

I'll make you wager it is not Junior Bush! Anyone that been following what's going on already know diehard conservatives will not support this guy anymore over basic fundamentals differences. The chatter is so bad in my opinion they'll force them not to run again knowing the country as a whole is going to set a mandate against him. The only prayer true conservatives have is to force his hand over the next several months. The fact is its already starting to happen. He only won the last election by the seat of his pants because everyone was fed up with any parts of the Clinton Administration including Al Gore. For some reason Junior Bush is under the illusion or impression there's some kind of love affair with his beloved Bush family and facts are no one could give a rats ass about them.
I'm just glad we dont have a President who is getting blow jobs in the oval office and talking sex on the phone with 20 years olds while the enemy makes plans to kill.

Bush will win and I'm glad.
And all,
"Bush will win and I'm glad." Jr. Boy does not had a prayer of winning another term and the sooner you guys take your heads out of your ass the better off conservatives will be. Some of us only support this idiot in the first place because of who agreed to become Secretary of State, that alone was his meal ticket. What is really the problem now is some of you idiots think it's about the economy stupid. Are the fact no ones getting blow jobs in the White House anymore, instead GI's are starting to go home in body bags. and for those of you that does not think this is not another Vietnam, my response this ass hole only goes to prove my point.

Howdy Larry

Perhaps you have posed a rhetorical question or, maybe, you are simply trolling with homemade bait. But, hey, I'll bite.

For the first time in decades America has a true leader as President that has seen the evils of radical Islamic powers and has taken definitive steps to protect all of us. He has shown his managerial skills in selecting an intelligent and diverse Cabinet and the most effect NSA since the position was created. He has taken the measures domestically that will lead to greater prosperity for all of us. And he has had the courage to do this while paths of less resistence and controversy were available. He is no short term President fixated on the poll of the day.

Not only will he trounce Kerry, a candidate with a paucity of achievement, his victory in the coming election will reinforce those in America that still believe in its core values, the Constitution with emphasis on the 2nd Ammendment and are proud to say "In God We Trust". Me? I feel honored to be able to work 15 to 20 hours a week on behalf of his re-election. America could have no finer leader at this time in history.
Handloader- I'll go along with that. Bush has certainly been put to the test during his term. Course some are blind to that and you're pissing in the wind trying to show them other wise.

Hey Larry

You seem to be obsessed with President Bush and of the opinion that the Republicans will dump him before the election. While that sentiment indicates that you may be out of synch with power politics, it does raise an interesting question regarding the Democratic candidate, John Kerry.

Larry, do you believe he is the best candidate for President? If so, can you elaborate for our collective benefit your reasoning? Or, is there someone else out there that commands your respect enough to support? Someone that reflects your values and beliefs? There are those in the Democratic party that are having serious doubts about Kerry's ability to garner something other than an embarassingly small percentage of the vote. They have reason for their concerns. Or, perhaps, all this works to the advantage of Hillary's run for 2008? Whatcha think Larry? Instead of sniveling about President Bush, who's your candidate and what are you doing to elect that person or are you just babbling and shooting blanks?

I look forward to your reasoned response.
Don't Feed The F////.. Troll !
handloader,

All of this so-called great leadership at what cost?

"For the first time in decades America has a true leader as President that has seen the evils of radical Islamic powers and has taken definitive steps to protect all of us."

To be very honest, I have very little knowledge of the religion Islam, although from what I understand its Christianity based ethnic. If that's the case like the different ethnic religions in this country they should be allowed to practice their religion without government interference, that would especially hold true to a foreign government.
It looks like I'll be using ignore for the first time.

So long Larrymartin, your not wanted.
Do any of you remember the fact that LBJ had huge investments in the company that made UH1H Huey helicopters?

Rick baby, you just made my point, thank you, the economy clearly was improving towards the end of the Bush SR presidency, but thanks to our liberal media, guess who they didnt tell. The day you ever convince me Democrats are good for business, that s the day the world will end. Let's get real, democrats dont create "real" jobs. They create lazy SOB's...............oh, that's right, you call them consitutents.
Larry,
You may be on to something.
The problem is finding another Republican dumb enough to accept what Bush will leave behind. I have heard that they have contacted Tom Ridge former PA Governor.(thank yew Jesus) and now in charge of the NASCAR light terror warning system.
I bet the RNC secretly fully supports John Kerry and already is preparing press releases blaming him for invading Iraq looking for mythical WMD's ,leveling the Country so Bechtel and Halliburton can build it back up with no bid Contracts, the Piss poor economy, and High fuel prices. This should work because they have blamed the Klinton Regime for everthing else.
I wouldn't count Bush out yet, but He is on the Ropes bleeding badly and every Body bag coming back from Bushaq is more votes for Kerry. WHEN are we going to get people that know how to lead instead of taking bad advice? I guess money can't buy a Brain?
BTW My Neighbors Son called from Baghdad today and said to wish The President Happy Easter and hopes he doesn't injure himself choking on pretzles or swatting Mosquitos while he chases Easter eggs all over his lawn in Crawford TX. He also said that if Bush wants to really have fun on Easter come on Over and see how many RPG's you can avoid while eating the Spaghetti in your MRE's.

Well, is that post he made quoting you considered a bet or not? I never did see where he said anything about the bet other than the quote he pasted in from your post. Hi Larry

Two houses down from mine lives a nice Muslim family. We talk frequently. They have a son in the Navy. They represent those followers of that religion that are wonderful people, deeply religious and loyal citizens of this country. They are very different from those members of radical Islam and they want to make sure that the neighborhood understands the difference.

If we read the fatwahs of various Imams we find a very different type of religious fervor, one that hates the Infidels (you and me) and one that has already justified our deaths, yours and mine, for merely being citizens of this country. While you and I, Larry, can discuss our viewpoints and pontificate loudly on our beliefs, the radicals of Islam have no tolerance and epitomize a religious totalitarianism that has no place within it for you and me. Radical Islam is the perfect definition of evil.

Radical Islam quotes passages from the Koran, interpretted to their point of view, that are chilling in the implications for any freedom loving country or people. Any means and all actions are justifiable to them to secure their vision of what the world should be. Need we recite again the countless acts of cowardly terrorism on their part, the hundreds and thousands of innocent lives slaughtered? If we are going to be effective in countering world wide or domestic terrorism we need to know our enemy.

Our posture in Iraq is frustrating for me as I see far too many good citizens swayed by the same liberal thinking that would have us believe that abortion and gay marriage somehow is justifiable. They would have us believe that our incursion into Iraq was revengeful, economically motivated or politically based. Now the evils of liberalism grasp the hand of the evils of Islam to work counter to the liberties and freedoms that we as people enjoy. While some of our fellow citizens revile the war in Iraq, they conveniently choose to ignore that the significant majority of their representatives signed on to combat Sadam and to reign in international terrorism.

If we deign to believe radical Islam is not the greatest threat to our way of life and to free peoples in the world then we are not worthy of the blood shed on our behalf by those that preceeded us and those that fight for our right to continue as the bastion of freedom. For his courageous decisions to prosecute this war I admire and follow my leader and President George Bush.
I knew that I would like it. miles
I can only say, that when I read the posts from Inspector and Larry, thank God for my favorite son George W. Bush and another four years! Oh, can you even imagine a 911 under the "leadership" of Al (G)Bore! Just gotta luv the USofA and freedom of speech.
I suspect that you are in for a long wait for larry to back up anything that he says. He will throw out a tidbit and when you reply and make him look the fool, he ignores that and changes the subject. miles
Right now, those guys are the best recruitment ad for GWB that I have seen. miles

Inspector , if the religious doctor an of Islam is based upon dark ages (medieval times} that's been passed down through generations, we're going to need a whole lot more than a warning system. The problem is very few understand what this doctor an is about and if openly practiced is seen as evil by those of ignorance. No different than some of early settlers in this country were seen as witches. The problem is this country people are not aware that very important scripture was left out of the holy Bible deliberately to keep the innocent from being unfairly crucified.
Handloader, while your post is very good, I go a step farther. What is the difference in "radical" Islam and those Muslim who profess to love US "infidels" but to my knowledge have never (in any large numbers) publicly condemned their "radical" Islamic brothers?

Guys, I'm just starting to have fun. LOL!. If my previous post didn't blow some of your minds this will. My family roots in this country go back to September 30 1727 is when my first relatives landed in Philadelphia. My great-grandfather about seven or eight times removed landed here Sept. 21 1731. All my relatives on both my mother's and fathers sided were very religious people. My mothers religion was Brethren and my dads very strict Mennonites . They came here to practice their faith freely in the New World. Along with them they brought their doctor an that included Scriptures or books in most part written by Moses that have been left out of most modern-day Bibles. And because some of the ignorance that was displayed early on in this country they took these books into hiding for good reason. For most part these old Scriptures about healing through faith and it does work. There's even a special way these old books are transfer within ones family for security reasons . There referred to as the bluebooks.
Something else that some of you might find interesting about some of my conservative relatives and their relation to the business community. The founders of Grove manufacturing that is now calls ( Grove worldwide )in Greencastle PA are my cousins John L. and his older brother Dwhite Grove. that originally started making farm wagons . John L. also is the founder of JLG based in McConnellsburg PA . recently died several months ago. He also was partners and investor in a chain of nationall named hotels.
Thanks Tracks, The air already smells cleaner & the water is running clear 2nd w
Larry,
Being just another enlightend "Bush basher" is one thing but you now have even me confused .
You use the word "Doctor an" which leaves most here totally immersed in the dark. I think what your looking for is the word "doctrine" or even "agenda"?
Stating unpopular beleifs is one thing, but confusing the people your trying to convince with words that don't exist is
looked upon as just stupid.
Most here can't see the difference because of lack of available reading light in their Anal cavities,
but since I have a halogen suppository, I can.
Inspector , my apologies for the confusion that comes from poor spelling and grammar. Sometimes it's hard to come up with the right terminology to get my message across. When that happens I'll keep coming back until I've get it right. I'm not just another "Bush basher" , I voted for this guy in the last election. Only to find out his position after the election on pardoning the illegal Hispanics, but now that he has attacked another country without just reason. Now my intentions is to go out of my way to try and correct a voting mistake.

The term I was trying to come up with by using "doctor an", might have been better described as scriptures written by Moses that does not exist in most modern-day Bibles.

Please don't take this is wrong , but I'm not trying to win a popularity contest .

muygrande1 You make a valid point. The silence of the American Muslim communities has been noted on the national and local levels. That said, the Phoenix Muslims are holding a "Loyal American" rally on April 25th @ Patriot Square. I'll attend with the expectations that there will be a strong statement issued and to see if it supported by a significant number and whether they decry the terrorists and radical Islamics.
I reckin' I'm a feller who thinks Bush ain't been upfront with the American people, ain't looked out for the interests of the common Joe, and ain't managed the economy for anything 'cept the short term. That said, I also want him to run, and LEARN. I want him to learn what he should have known, that he is every american's president, not just the special interests, CEOs, and those with million dollar portfolios. I don't much care for Kerry, as he is just another career politician. Bush may be our best chance for non-Washington representation, as long as he learns from his mistakes and starts trying to be the leader his ads tout him to be. Maybe he'll start readin' 24-hour and we can straighten the feller out. Its a sad fact, but we really ain't got much to choose from for the most demanding job going.

Enuff 'bout politics, anybody know who makes the best jelly beans? I like the old fashioned kind, with plenty of black ones in the bag. All the brands we found were funny tasting and slim on the blackies.
I believe Brach's markets all black packages. I do like the Brach's the best, like you I think many of the others taste is a bit off.
The Target store we went to ain't got any Brachs at all. Plenty of spicey ones, starburst ones, and outright no taste-sugary ones. I'd like to have a bag of solid black, but the women folk wouldn't let me buy one if I was to see it. Another thing that gets my back hair on end is the way they bastardized malted milk balls. Puttin' candy coating on them no less! Everbody knows a proper malted milk ball is chocholate coated. Damn generation Xers got no respect for tradition.
Mule--that's for sure--candy coating on malted milk balls is a sure sign of a society in decay. Give me a while and I'll figure out how it's Clinton's fault.
AggieDog what markets do you have your 401k in? Mine have all lost money except the ones that I put in low risk.
It's Clinton's fault because no one wanted anything to do with him or Al Gore anymore . Mr. Gore connection to the Clintons is why no conservatives crossed party lines and the rest is history.
Who asked you...
Joecool, Ruger and S&W stocks have been doing very well!

-FreeMe
Jelly Belly's are the best, and you can buy all black. They are what my kids want every Easter. If you haven't tried them, you really have to. The pear are great, but the popcorn is kind of wierd tasting, just doesn't seem right in a jelly bean.
FreeMe Ruger and S&W are not part of my 401k they are stocks.
Yeah - not part of mine either. I buy 'em seperately.

-FreeMe
Typical liberals , if you cannot make an argument then change the subject and filibuster. LOL
Man, you got two of my pet peeves in on post. Not only are they supposed to be CHOCOLATE coated, they are supposed to be ROUND, after all, they are malted milk BALLS.

You will just have to buy the women two bags apiece and then get you a whole bag of the black ones!
Gotta agree with the jelly bellys, best jelly beans I've been able to get ahold of. Got some wierd flavors (understatement) but the normal ones are good.
No kiddin' How bout that popcorn flavor?

I do like the tart flavors, though...
Same here on the sour flavors, they packaged a assorted flavors bag of those that I enjoyed.

The popcorn, while being "popcornish", isn't one of my favs by any stretch. If I want popcorn flavor, I'll eat popcorn, not jelly beans.
Probably my least favorite, as well.

The college in Pendleton, OR used to sell individual flavors, by weight.
I have seen them sold by flavor/wieght as well but never ALL the flavors. Most the shops I found would only have a couple dozen flavors.... For the weird ones you had to buy them prepackaged, and many times you were largely guessing what flavor it was that you were eating.
methinks the libertarian isolationists are running loose in this forum, starting these anti-bush threads, playing right into the hands of the kerryites and their millionaire-socialist-we-know-better agenda.

give us a better way to do things with a positive approach, boys, not bunch of negative stuff with no solutions.

this country is at war right now. i do not think it is time to change chargers when you're already riding into battle.
Well since Fannie Mae went broke I'll stick with the Brach's. My personal flavor after licorice is the cherry ones.
You can sorta distinguish them by color...
OK, I like, first BLACK, second RED and third GREEN. That OK Sir?
"Sorta" distinguish is right.... With over a hundred flavors my color perception is tested... Hmm, is this light orange or peach?
And they got these different colored specks in the main color, too, just to make it more confusing!
Well, while we're on the candy subject. We've got a little family run factory in our neck of the woods called "Henry's". They make it all! Remember the ole "horhounds"? Yep, you can watch them make all that stuff, buy all you want right out front. For a candy lover it's a hellava place to visit.
Neva hoid offit!
Good stuff, old fashioned candy is a great treat. Must be a regional thing....
Guess I'll have to send you all a bag.
Used to get the ansith (SP) when I was a kid, used to make our own "Rock candy". Lemon drops were also a favorite.
Rock candy has to be my fav by far. I can hear my dentist getting richer as we type. Mmmmm.
OH yeah, dentists just love the stuff, it is pure sugar.
Just give me a whole big bag of brach's cinnamon jelly beans....they are the best IMO
Haven't had horhound candy canes in years. We used to go to a small town in PA and get those when we were kids...you made my mouth water...anywhere in WY to get them???

Guess I'll have to run over there tomorrow and pick up a bag of those horhounds, ya got me hungry now. Don't know about WY. You're probably S.O.L. !
Larry,

All those relatives with big business connections, and none could pay for your english lessons?

When you get to the 10th grade, I suggest a beginner's typing course as well.

Mac
The only reason I mentioned those two relatives, was because they were both self-made millionaires and John L . never graduated from high school. Both of them during the depression worked for my grandfather .
I got a theory that horhound candy will extend your life. All the people you see eating it are really old.
Hey, I resemble that remark!
