Rem 870 12 gage shotgun for 120 $moochies?

Comes from a woman @ Ned's work, and, NO, he didn't ask how old it was or how much it has been used....

Any thoughts...as I know little about shotguns?! I just know I am right eye dominant, and she'll dance...that way.

Thanks!!

yes!
Remmy 870 for $120?

Does it work???

Yes, worth it!!! I'd love to find me a Remmy 870 in good shape for even twice that price!

Josh
if it isn't totally wrecked it's a great buy.
i think i would buy it for that it would have to be beat up really bad to not be worth that
If the condition is good, that's a realistic price.
Condition, condition, and condition.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

laugh
Depending on the condition...120 ain't bad.
Definitely worth looking at and the sooner the better.
Gonna try and find her telly#....cuz I'll be at USFWS day after tomorrow, dropping off plants that I'll pick up in April....after the move.

Hard to believe I will be in ND next week this time. We leave on saturday....weather is looking to shine on us, so I can't beeetch....<grin>.
Good luck on the move.

I don't think you can go wrong on the shotgun.
If you think it's a go on the 870, offer a c-note and be gone with it!
Yep, good price for and 870.
Yes! Unless it's been totally destroyed it's worth more than that. Don't care how configured, don't care how old.
BTW, have a safe trip and check back in soon as you can!
Buy the shotgun, I have been driving around North Central ND all day, lots of pheasants up along the roads because of all the snow, hope they make it the rest of the winter. And they really taste good.
sounds like a good deal... congratulations on the FWS job, I had 11 years with them (Division of Refuges, Regions 2 and 4)and they were a good outfit to work for.
Good buy for sure. Good to see you posting a bit here again. Missed ya!

Still got your 22 rifle and 357 and 7/08 you started out with?
Everyone should have at least one 870 or Model 12. laugh

It would have to be really rough to not be worth $120.

Jerry

As long as it's functional, great deal! It is easy to swap out barrels for various uses, as well. Hope your move goes smoothly!

Sounds like a good truck or barn gun.

It all depends on condition.. But even if it's a turd, aesthetics-wise, it's cheap as long as it functions ok..

is it an express, an express magnum, a wingmaster? What is it?

I guess even if it's a short chamber express it probably worth 120 just to have around for upland game etc.
Dave,
Geese and deer still die when shot with 2.75" shells. Really smile

Oh....Gawd....me too! eek

Wait, I gotta go stick my head out the window to see if the sky is falling.....
THUD!!!

God save ingwe's soul, for the "Big Sky" has fallen on him.. wink

PS. 2.75 will work on wolves too Jane - if you decide to join the SSS outlaws. Somehow, I don't see that happening though.
Brent..I think we also agree on the cow issue to an extent...I'm so accustomed to eating game that the last time my hunting pard took me out and bought me a steak ( from a cow..) I told him " We gotta go shoot some of these!! " laugh
While the 870 isn't exactly the world's standard for a pump shotgun, I'd say it would do OK in a wolf woods when load with 00buck. And for a hunert bucks......sheesh!

Wonder what is if the 870 isn't?
ingwe, indeed, dead cow is one of my FAVORITE foods.

870s rule. Every single time. Only weenie Chevy & Toy 'guys' would advocate for a Winnie M12 (M97 is marginally acceptable in a pinch) over an 870....

If you feel the gay, get an M12 - everyone else an 870 rocks
I have one 870. Fine gun it is, plain Jane, smooth and always dependable. Kind of reminds me of my 72, 750 Honda cycle.

I also have a Model 12 and a Model 97. Again, nothing fancy on either just good solid shotguns. They kind of remind me of my past Harley Davidson motorcycles.

So, I guess it's just a clash of class. Kind of like Hondas vs Harleys.

I'll take a Rem 31 all day, every day over an 870 for corn shuckers.
i keep an 870 on each end of the house within easy reach.
Here's mine.

Been jazzed up a little for deer, but I still have the original barrel.

Never had a malfunction in over 50 years........

That's indeed the "short" of it! GRAB that sucker! That's a great price. I considered myself lucky when I found a beater M870 (candidate for Scattergun Tech's "Remington Steal" refurb program)

for $175. And I still sold the barrel and stock and forend-set!
870 Express = junk

870 Wingmaster = Much, much better!
