Hello Member's
I am in a Bit of Trouble right now and could use your prayer's and thought's right now. I was down in Birmingham, Alabama to Take care of a bad Gun Transaction where a well known Gun sales person took advantage of me, I sold this man Seven High End Gun's for $8500.00 which was His offer of what I did Not agree with and Expected him to make up the difference of $13,700.00 as he was broke at that time and told me so, but he would Not Nor did not make up that difference even after he had 69 Gun's auctioned off on Gunbroker.com and Ignored my Request for more or the return of my beloved S&W's. On the way to his Gun ware house I Crashed my 2000 Dodge Ram Truck and had to be Hospitalized. They stitched up my Head and I had No way home. My Glasses and cell Phone were in my Truck which was towed away, so I had to find a way to Get back to Knoxville, so I Borrowed a Rual-Metro ambulance. being I am a professional driver I had no Fear of driving it so I checked to make certain no one was in it and I checked the fuel and it was full. It was sitting there running with the driver's door open so I Jumped in it and Headed to Knoxville. It is a 280 Mile trip and they had an APB on me but I was Not stopped along the way when I saw police cars I would step on the gas throw on the Light's and siren so that they would think I had a person on board and I made all the way Home before I was arrested in my driveway. The Cop's were rough on me and I spent 13 Hours in a jail cell for it, so Now I have the charges to face. A Birmingham detective called my wife and told her they are dropping all charges. Rual-Metro has been the ambulance company who has Hauled me off Four times in the past four Month's for speaking the word of God so I had a Vendetta toward's them to get even and did so by Borrowing their ambulance. I will Only offer the fuel and Towing to Them as I did Not Hurt their ambulance I Only Borrowed it for a while and I am prepared to do time Rather than plead Guilty to The charges of Theft if I have to. Regards, Kurt Vogler AKA The General

Deep down inside, I am hoping this is Grade A satire.

Speechless.
I've heard this on the local news, and there is a link at the bottom of the guys post to the news story.

At least part of this actually happened, which makes this the funniest thing that has not yet been written into a Charlie Daniels song.

Uneasy rider 2014?
General, I am sorry for your troubles and have prayed for you.

In other news:

FLOTUS Michele Obama was seen shoplifting three packages of Ho Ho's while shopping in a Chicago mall. When confronted she claimed to be taking the tasty rolled cakes to protect the obese children from harming themselves. However, store security noted that she had a large smear of creamy white filling on her mouth and tip of her nose. She was released to the custody of her Secret Service detail and asked to leave the mall.

Uncle Sy, famous star of the popular Duck Dynasty TV reality show, was admitted to a local hospital after suffering injuries from a workplace accident. Rescue workers pieced together what happened after a lengthy investigation. Chief Dexter Fong of the West Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, explained that Uncle Sy had apparently constructed a giant duck call from road culvert and corrugated steel roofing, then hooked it up to a diesel powered air compressor. When blown, the sound level blew out windows in the family owned manufacturing plant and damaged buildings within a three mile radius. When questioned about why he pulled the stunt Uncle Sy replied, "Huh"? Doctors at the hospital said Uncle Sy may be permanently deaf, but time will tell. Apparently Uncle Sy was trying to set the Guinness World Record for the loudest duck call. Damages are expected to exceed $100,000.

Coming up: How wrapping you feet with egg noodles can save your life. Right after the break.

"borrowed"?
Is that a registered magnum with ropers in your avatar?

Also, strange story.

Seems he can kiss that S&W collection good bye.
All I got to say is ...

Somebody has a turdlike sense of humor. grin
Going to 'Bama to whoop some azz, busting yer head open, hijack an ambulance to get home......

Sounds like a good weekend! Well done General!

Note to secretary...

File under "WTF"...
dear general:
In light of your difficulties and your request for prayer and thoughts, I thought it would be helpful if you arranged for me to pick up your other smith's and give them a safe storage facility. I would be more than happy to do this given you would sign a few pieces of paper just to make it "on paper" so to speak.
Send pictures of your collection, and i should be back from gassing up the truck shortly. I think driving non stop from arizona to your place of residence shouldn't take too long.

I should ask your age, and I think something could be done for you as to wills etc. Did you bump your head in the process of all of this? Not to worry.

I believe one has to have permission, before it can be considered "borrowed"
There just has to be more of this story from the general. However, I must say it's good enough so far anyway.
I have enjoyed all those photos of very top shelf Smith and Wesson revolvers over the years... sure do hope they find a good home. Seriously though... perhaps your recent head injury is causing you to believe you are behaving in a rational manner.... you are not.

I would urge you to seek council re how to protect the financial value of the collection... either gifting them to family of friends or the creation of a trust where they could be sold off at or near market value.

Wow, just...........wow.

I am thinking a silly little detail like that would not have altered his decision, nor the decision of any of his other personalities crazy
Hey General,

Welcome back, you sure do make an entrance. Still, we've missed you at the handgun forum, so get down their and post that S&W porn you're so famous for.

On another note, while working as a medic back in 1989 one of our ambulances was stolen from UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. UCD is where Folsom prison took their prisoners when they needed to go to the ER. Anyhow, one of the prisoners decided to make a run for it, swiped one of our ambulances and the chase was on. The chase went through various subdivisions at speeds of up to 90mph; this went on for nearly 30 minutes before the guy crashed the ambulance. The funny part, the guy was still handcuffed behind his back when they resumed custody of him. Now thats skill.

You Sir are one of the kindest, most caring, and compassionate men I know. I just cannot let you do this by yourself. If there are and 45 LC Smiths in that collection I would gladly lock them up for you so your safe does not become overcrowded.
All kidding aside, something has truly changed regarding the General's mental faculties.

When you read his posts from the past, he is thoughtful, focused, intelligent. These actions are not consistent with that man. I pray that whatever is causing these changes can be reversed or treated.
Don't worry General, the guy who has your guns in just borrowing them.

On another note I hope you get your mental issues worked out.
general, I hope somebody hijacked your username and password and is messing with us. If not, I would put prayers 4th on the list behind retaining a mental health professional, retaining a good lawyer, and staying away from Internet forums. Seriously.

I hope they get you back to plumb, general

scott, you are showing here your kind compassionate, fuzzy side. But i have the safe side thing covered. Plus, knowing your desires in this area, one would not want to be considered an enabler for you so to speak. Safes don't become overcrowded, sort of, you just simply buy more safes. Besides, you know that the .45colt is considered by some to be an obsolete round. I cannot immagine you wanting to go down that road. I also suspect you have not talked this over with your controlling influence. Me, on the other hand, don't feel it's needed to bring up every little detail with my controlling influence, but you are a much better man that me. That's why she doesn't know what followed me home the other day.

Well, aside from the fuzzy math (7=69, and $8500-$13,700=?, and 69 S&W's of even modest value would be worth in the neighborhood of $35,000...), the frequent unnecessary capitalizations, and the run-together sentences, this sure sounds a lot like the General... not.

OK, who's the hoaxster? Fess up!!

Do you have your own reality show by chance?

Actually, it does. I've (tried to) read many of his posts in the Handgun forum.

Hmm. Now that you mention it--and I haven't tried to read one of his posts in quite a while--he does tend to use a lot of unnecessary caps and run-together sentences, and I've never seen him do any math of any kind...

Oh, well. I gotta go deer hunting tomorrow. Hope it all works out ok for the General.
This particular quote is not going to helpful in any type of hearing-

Do you know how close this place came to being on the six oclock news, I am an excellent marksman, a witness said she heard Vogler say, according to court records.

I had no idea he had four stars. That alone is remarkable but it's a tragedy things have gone this way, for a man who always appeared a true gentleman. I do hope and pray he will find Grace and Healing, both in this world and the next.

The general pictured is General Raymond Odierno. He is still in active service, and is Chief of Staff of the US Army.
But what amazes me, is he can still hold that position after this latest incident!
I liked the part about turning the ambulance lights and siren on every time he saw a cop.

I might have to put lights and a siren on my scooter.

I fully understand your desire to keep me protected from having an obsolete chambered firearm in my home but my safe is not as near as classy, ie full, as yours. Not wanting to crowd what space you have was the deciding factor in my offer. I consider it the least a friend could do for you.
Before you left, did you establish IV and 5 liters non-rebreather?
general, are you of nigerian descent by chance? if so, i have a money order for a large amount of US dollars ready to send your way.

I didn't know what I was doing. I mean, I made sure to check the gas level before I left and I safely navigated a 280 mile road trip and I used the lights to avoid the cops. But I had no idea what I was doing.

This is a great story, whoever it was.

The General Really Could Use Your Prayers And Thoughts

When I first read your post - I didn't know what all to make of it and didn't know how to reply to it, and didn't.
I did give you a lot of thought though, remembering all your noteworthy contributions on the Handguns Forum,
and your being a person I much admired and respected here. I still do.

You have my thoughts and prayers - whatever that's worth for any reason.

Hello
The gun has been sold.... The General
I also looked at and was considering your 'gun' - the S&W, 431-PD, Airweight, 32 H&R MAG. Snubnose Revolver this evening.
I have the almost identical revolver, a S&W 432-PD (Hammerless) 32 H&R MAG. version and have long wanted to have the 'pair'.

This has been my only S&W Handgun - But I do have a like-new S&W Model 19-3, 357 MAG. 4" barrel on lay-by.
I also just retired, and it's going to be a long time getting up the $$$ to bring it home.

Hello P_Weed
I still have the Very hard to Locate S&W Model 631 Air-Weight Cenntenial Revolver One of Only 1500 made and it is Un-fired brand new in it's original Box. The Only thing I have done to it was remove those Horrid Looking Good-Year rubber Boot stock's and replaced them with a nice set of factory Boot stock's made out of Rosewood Laminate as shown below. I saw it but didn't know what to say.

And I still don't. I think I'll just agree with deflave and add partying with this guy to my bucket list. (If it's true)

If it's made up it has been well played.

I saw the headline, but didn't open it because i honestly thought it was another safariman type woe is me thread...but holy ffugg, I haven't laughed this hard since the avalanche thread
Have you read the one about deflave's first elk?
Partially
Tetched in the Head.

General

Next time....steal a cops car! It has red lights and a siren too!! Put a little burnt oil and sulphur on the gash in your head and it'll heal up quick! Also cures the mange!!

According to this he had gone through a bunch of stuff prior that pushed him over the edge.

Hate to hear that. I never really got to know him very much but he used to post a lot of pics of his revolvers on the S&W forum and here.

The OP of this thread, although tragic, was one of the most interesting posts to ever appear on the Campfire.

I'd had seen him around enough to realize that it was out of character for him to say that much about anything. He usually would just talk about his revolvers and move along,..so I wondered if something was going on with him.
He has some impressive revolvers.
And I'm thinking it don't take much to snap a person when dealing with hospital/medical administrators.
Rest easy, mister and enjoy peace at last. At least there are no crooked gun dealers in Heaven.
....and kudos to his wife, sounds like she stood by him through all of this.
RIP Kurt.
Well as several have commented the General is gone. This is his wife posting this. Kurt lost his battle with cancer on March 31,2016. The cancer caused many things to happen with him and along with the added stress we had with past medical issues he was not himself. Kurt thought of you all as his friends I guess is why he posted this thread in here. He always talked about how great you all were. Then I asked why he quit going in his forums he said he lost interst. It wasn't that at all. With the exception of a couple and I thank you few , you guys were jerks. I hope and pray that none of you ever have to deal with what he had to both mentally and physically. He reached out to you and you made a mockery of him. Grown men . What a disgrace. Excuse my punctuation and grammar and not using correct paragraphs. Im not used to posting in these forums. I just saw the thread in his emails as I am shutting things down and putting him to rest. When I saw your post I felt I needed to reply. Birdwatcher I did stand by him to the end. He was ill and needed me. He was my best friend and my soul mate. Just remember gentleman we all pay for our actions . At least Kurt had an excuse with his illness. What is yours! Again thank you to the ones who were kind and sent messages of support. God Bless you all. Mrs. Kurt
Ma'am, I believe I can speak for all of us when I say you have the profound respect of everyone here.

Sorry for your tragic loss.

From the archives, this has to be the best Campfire story of all time!
Never understood why people put their dirty laundry out their for the whole world to mock. People take negative attention as some sort of fame.
The man was VERY ill, and not thinking right. RIP, Kurt.

Yes.

As you and I know, cancer is a horrible thing.
This should have stayed in the archives.
Tag, don't have time to read all this right now.
