What kind of information are you looking for? The info you are looking for is in the truck section under the Ford 6.2 Liter Gasser post. A lot of info/personal input about it.

Thanks. I will look at it.I was just trying to get the benefit of the other members experience with that engine. I run several Fords,everything from 360s,400, 460s, and v10 engines. I have no experience with the 6.2, nor do I know anyone who owns one.

I really like them when they are have the Raptor wrapped around them.....I don't own one just like the concept.

My brother has one in his F150, definitely lots of power for that package. He pulls a 8K trailer through our mountain passes without much effort. So far it has been very reliable and gets decent mileage, empty or loaded.

I have one in a 250 that I use for work. Heck of a lot better than the 5.4. For long Hill climbs the transmission is geared to too tall and I frequently use tow mode. The power is there but it tries too hard to get good mileage. Computer average says I get 13.5. This is a short bed, extended cab with 3.73 gears.

I drove a F250 crew fx4 over 3 years with the 6.2 without 1 problem. Plenty of power and pulled anything I asked of it. I think it's a great motor and will last a long time. If you are concerned about fuel economy look elsewhere, it'll pass everything but a gas station.

I have driven a lot of 460s over the years. I understand there is no free lunch.

Sounds like the 6.2 gets about the same real world mileage as the diesels.


I would love one in a new supercab F250(that wasn't pulling heavy trailers and hills).

I have a 2012 F-350 crew cab short bed, 3.73 gears 4x4. I've got a cab height bed-cap on it.

Bought it new in mid-2013, Camper Package model with a GVW of 11,300.

I had a few diesels before I got this gasser, a 2500 Chev with the Duramax (2009?) and two Dodge 2500s with the Cummins (2010 and 2011).

The Ford is a keeper, I have about 100 miles short of 70,000 on it now and all the maintenance I've done is oil changes when the computer says (about 9,500 miles between) and rotate the tires. I still have the original tires and I'm thinking they'll make it through another winter.

I don't tow anything and mainly drive highway miles, I have about 1500 hours on the engine with 100 or 101 for idle(ing) hours so right close to 50mph average when the truck is moving.

If I stay in the 55 to 60 mph range on the level Interstate I get about 16.5 mpg but up the speed to 70-72 mph (East Coast - Wash DC to South Carolina mainly for me) I get about 15.7mpg and overall mileage so far, life of the truck, is about 15.4. I drive consistent and maimly use Cruise Control... it's a "grocery getter" for the most part but its been up the trails in Colorado and hauling loads of pavers and residential wall blocks... It doesn't seem to care what I put in it, it drives about the same loaded or empty.

I've driven it to the mountains west of the San Luis valley a few times for elk hunting. It goes up the passes (about 11,000 ft ASL) okay but as a non-turbo gasser it downshifts to get enough torque to get to places that my previous diesel would go without a downshift. AND that is the difference between diesel and gas engines... the truck will find the torque it need to do the job and for a gasser it often means some down-shifts and higher engine revs.

The engine brake on this 6.2 Ford isn't an effective as the little "Jake" on the Cummins but it tries hard.

I believe I'll keep it when it come time to buy another shiny vehicle... I'll use it as a 'yard truck', haul dirt and tree trimming with it.
