I should learn to just shut up, or at least not watch the 'news' together.

And at minimium refrain from chewing her liberal ass out in major fashion.
(we haven't spoke in 4 days)

But hey, the couch ain't half bad(my choice) and I sure as hell ain't apologizing!
My wife is more hard core than I am even. One thing I am very thankful for. Would be impossible otherwise
Mine is voting Trump, but sure isn't happy about it. We differ, in that regard. I like Trump.
Tough row to hoe.
Any one else in the same boat lately?

You didn`t know she was liberal when you married her?

BTW, way to take one for the team grin

My wife is voting for Trump, as I am also . But wont talk or watch politics, so I discuss things with the dog. frown
I know tow things a married couple should never do as a team. Back an RV into a campsite, and paddle a canoe. Maybe you should add talking politics to that. smile

Well, my most recent exgirlfriend called me "racist" for describing homosexuals as [bleep].

She did say hi to me the other day though.........

Casey

Oh for crying out loud! The 'fire bleeps out F-A-G-S ????
the old lady is conservative, otherwise i'd tell her to hit the trail.

Sorry Sam,

I'm on the other side of this equation. If my wife listens to Hillary for about two minutes she gets so mad it's right down funny.
Sam, The wife is not a problem, The 27 and 32 year old daughters are. Being my prick of a self I told them if they voted Dem don't darken my door again. Russ
My ex, 14 years, was a great union steward when I met her, very liberal. I married her anyway lol, the sex was good lol. She worked for the phone company. After about 10 years she made management . She went from far left to far right lol and I was still sleeping on the couch lol.
Sounds like the little head was doing all the thinking when you got married Sam.
We are basically opposites which in fact is a good thing.
(helps balance things out I guess)

Get along fine 95% of the time...

But damn is it hard to deal with during this latest political chitshow.

Should admit I'm fairly liberal on some issues but no way in hell support/vote for any of the Dems.

Redneck hippy so to speak.
My wife's voting for Trump because she can't stand Clinton.

I won't be voting for either of them, because I can't stand Clinton or Trump.
Well Sam, my lovely bride, and I are coming up on 49 years of marriage come December.
It has not always been a coast down easy street.

My wife was moderate when we met. She cried at the results of the last 2 presidential elections.

Conversion successful.
My Wife and i are equally conservative, she'll be the first to tell you politics went to hell when women started voting.
This conversion was going well.

But damn ol' Trump(and the fricken media...) made it harder lately!
My wife hates Hillary and wanted to vote for Cruz as did I. We will both be voting for Trump! She get pissed at me for standing in my office at home and cussing at the television while watching the news. I don't give a [bleep]!
And it actually wasn't even the presidential race that uber pissed me off.

Governor race where certain issues hit a lot closer to home.

Good luck Sammo. Remember, logic has no place in conversation with women.

Two things a married (or soon to be married) guy should never skimp on...

Couches and dogs.

Get the best you can find....
Funny thing is my wife went to U.C. Berkley and well you could say had drank the kool aid. But somehow after having kids she's now more conservative than I am on many issues.

I couldn't imagine being married to someone with different core values.
God bless her, my woman... we don't even have to talk politics, it's a done deal. Daddy's girl, tom-girl, raised in the deep south.

Imagine this. Slack-jawed fetal alcohol syndrome looking fool at work squirts out her second basturd child, comes back to "work". My darling says, "Say, where's the baby pictures?"

"Ain't showin' you...."

"Well, hell, I'm paying for the damn kid, you could at least share a damn picture."

Love her.

Maybe I shouldn't have labeled her as a 'liberal'.

She's actually fairly quiet and too nice I guess.

Nice to everyone.

Gets kinda pissed when I say nasty things about certain groups people.
(I only say it if they deserve it....)

She's a lot like my mom.

But I know better than to give my mom chit.......grin

My wife was moderate as well, she found her way.

You're f'ked now.
Dogs are smarter than people, they don't do politics!
I can't figure how folks marry others that are liberal? I wouldn't even consider it regardless if it was the last one on the earth.

No issues here. Other than likely who the next POS will be.
Movement is certainly limited.

Of course my dogs a working dog so he's voting Trump!

I rarely say F#@K, she never does..... unless Hitlery is speaking.

I have a daughter like that.....think Atilla in a skirt.

Guys that list to the left, don't even ask for the time......
Sam,

My wife and I do not talk politics. In fact, since retiring, we rarely talk about the news.
Ed, smart man...

I don't think it's a good idea to discuss politics with probably 3/4 of the people on Earth!
When you consider how many men have been married twice, I loose faith in our team, I mean really , how many of you every zipped your dick into your pants twice?
I don't ever plan on getting divorced but last little scrap is still going...
most times the choice ain't yours....
Sam,

My secret to successful relationships is to only be myself around hookers.

It works.

Sometimes.

Meaning rarely.

Hope this helps.

The only way women could be the problem is if they don't have tits, and thats rare!

My wife and I are going to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary in December. I'm positive I never ask her if she was liberal or conservative before we got married. Oh well I guess I got lucky
My wife and I listen to each other's opinions....mostly... there's an art to talking politics within a marriage but I think that it can only be learned by FIRE! Grin.

Guessing Trump has caused much living room dischord around America. He's a bit challenged in the fairer-sex department right now.

Shoulda seen Trump's comment about his wife's speech at the convention being copied off of Moochele's- this while both candidates were at the Al Franken charity thing. Trump read the line before delivering it and said "This one's going to get me into trouble... AND NOT WITH HILLARY!" Looked like Melania didn't like the joke, but it was obvious both candidate's lines were written for them. Anyone that hasn't seen it, should watch it on Youtube.

Anyways, back to bickering...

There's a Trump Train joke in this thread somewhere. Someone find it. laugh laugh
Remember, at the end of the day, this is one time you get to f*ck a liberal and not get f*cked by one. Make sure you mention that at just the right moment.

You can thank me later...
I pushed my wife down the stairs when I don't agree with her.. funny we never disagree on anything anymore..
The gf is conservative but can't stand Trump. I'm still working on her, but I think she'll just sit this one out.

Good luck Sam.
My wife is Native American/Norwegian. She runs her own giftshop in Alaskaland and works hard beading and sewing. I think she would hit the accelerator if she saw Hillary in the road in front of her. She spends time on social media ripping the innards out of Hillary supporters.
grin
My wife is a mix, she's more liberal than I am, but she also runs a significant biz so she's got a strong conservative streak fiscally.

By vocation we meet lots of folks on both sides and ends of the political spectrum

I'm pretty tolerant of differing viewpoints, but hypocrisy kinda makes my jaw tight.

We're all shaped by our life's experiences

Was talking to a schoolmarm and she knows I love kids, we argued a bit about my philosophy that if the gov't rewards dumb behavior it will increase

She works with lil kids all day long, I don't, if you ever close even slightly the gov't teat that feeds a lot of kids, kids are gonna suffer

It's a natural fact

, but if you don't ever make folks suffer the consequences of poor decisions as I said you can bet your bottom dollar you'll get lots more making those dumb choices or decisions

Not a lot of easy answers out there

Lot of folks breeding that don't have enough concern for those they bring into this world

Is it the kids fault their parents are dumb? Nope but it's the kid that will have to pay the price if you're ever going to change the behavior of the parent

Tell her id like to know whats so appealing about getting a new tax based on your miles driven when you already pay about 40 cents per gallon in taxes.

Whats so great about another million muslem refugees living here on or dime free when 22 % test positive for TB.

Whats so great about the EPA shutting down most oil drilling due to methane gas loss and having $250/bbl oil helpng Hillarys Saudi buds get richer. They will probably bump her a cool couple billion.

Yeah, racist.
My wife is very conservative and we have both voted straight Republican for 36 years. However, for the first time my wife will not be voting in the presidential election because she believes Trump as a person is "dim, inarticulate, despicable and repulsive".

She will not be voting Republican because she does not want to be associated with a group of people who would not think or could not see otherwise. I can't disagree and will be voting Republican down ballot hoping to establish some gridlock and preserve 2A rights.

I'm afraid this election may turn her into a non-Republican and that is not good news since we vote in North Carolina.

She and I both believe elections are won in the middle and the Republicans as defined by the Trump supporters have really screwed the pooch for many years doing irreparable and timely harm to moderate and conservative representation for many years.

Politics and good public policy in modern America is about reasonable compromise recognizing that this isn't mid-20th century America. As a conservative I recognize my interests are best served by the Republican Party... not perfectly but much better than the Democrats so I don't know why anyone would send into a two-party presidential race a candidate while perhaps more in tune with ones personal beliefs and interests doesn't have the best chance to defeat the Democrats. This election was ours to win and we Republicans really messed this election up.

And you like us footing the hospital bills for millions of refugees and illegal aliens, right.

Hey, letting women from 45 or so countries who have distant relatives living here hop on a plane to come for a visit when they are 8.5 mo. pregnant and dropping their baby here is great, aint it, especially those from down south with the Zika babies we get to take care of for the rest of their life.

Same way at my house. Wife is very hard core against abortion. So she hates Hildog.
My bride was rescued from a family of very nice Minnesota socialists. She now says the truth before I even have a chance.

By the way Sam, a farmer who does not vote democrat is a principled man indeed.
My wife is has been a Trump supporter since day 1 of his campaign. She's also been considerably red pilled about how crooked the mainstream media propaganda machine is.

I'm tolerant to a point. But I'm not sure I could handle having a Hillary supporter in the house. I honestly can't hardly stand to see the bitch on TV.

Hillary isn't just a Democrat,...she isn't just a liberal.

She's an enemy of the people who thinks that I'm deplorable and irredeemable. She's hired thugs to physically attack Trump supporters in order to disrupt the electoral process, which is a direct attack on freedom.

I could go on, but that's enough. My tolerance level pulls up way short of that kind of stuff.

End women's suffrage! smile
My wife is going today to early vote. (For Trump). She works in public health, makes her sick to see day in day out all these people who claim to be indigent, yet pull up in an Escalade wanting medical services for free.

Be a few more days before Drs will allow me to go out into society and wade with all the other germy people.

The kids pay the price when you don't change the behavior of the parent.

Some of my wife's clients have had their kids taken away by social services. 95+% of the time those people aren't going to make any efforts to become half decent parents. I think the experience is making my wife more conservative. When you look at how much the state spends to try and help these people, and when you see almost none of them make a step to better themselves it's real easy to come to the conclusion that as Steely says, they should be culled.

I was talking with one of the states few conservative representatives a few weeks back and she said someone ran the numbers and figured 90% of state services go to 10% of the population.
The conversation is a long one in a marraige. Don't apply the same win/lose metrics to it as you would a 5-minute hot take in a bar with buddies. Be a good debate partner, play fair, and you'll find that you move her your direction over time. Might learn a thing or two over the decades too.

Sammo don't forget who it is that gave their one and only life to you. Quite a gift right there. Last fight of any significance Cyn and I had, a few years ago, we were doing what you guys are doing- punishing, withholding- and it just came to me in a prickly sweat after a few days how utterly sweet it was that this person had chosen ME, and paired with my scruffy ass for life. About broke my heart. Know where your riches lay.

"My wife is my best friend, I don't have friends that are liberal."

Exactly as my situation.

My only dilemma is her listening to the news and being disgusted and upset after hearing clintons voice.

I have to limit her exposure to that voice or there is about an hour of recovery time.

Woke up with a smile on my face this morning.......

MM, I have an uber vague Farmer's Only account(no pic or details, etc..) that I setup in order to spy on a couple of my buddies. Spied one time and got bored.

But I still get e-mails every day with prospective women(gold diggers).
And of the hundreds of profiles there have been a grand total of 2 decent looking ones....
My bride was a bleeding heart liberal when we first started dating - her dad was a union welder and her mom never had a job in her life. We canceled each other in presidential elections until '96. She saw the light and turned the corner HARD. Only time I saw any "weakness" in her transformation was in '08 when I was bemoaning the newly elected prez . . . she said I needed to at least give him a chance . . . I replied OK, I'll give him two weeks after he assumes office. About two months later she told me I gave him too much time. 41 years later, we both know where the other stands,

Not that either of us are enamored with the Donald, but neither of us can stand the hildebeast.

It was only posted jokingly....
As a good argument against Hillary, let her read on her own and when she's done reading, ask her if she now understands why Hillary had a private email server and why her & her "lawyers" deleted 33,000 emails that were under congressional subpoena....
Maybe she'll understand how/why you get so upset...good luck... wink

Otter, I'm not giving up here.

The conversion might just take a little longer!

My ultra liberal aunt/uncle were in town yesterday. I didn't know they coming until my dad called me while I was swathing hay.

He always gives me a heads up(once/twice a year..) so as to avoid any possibility of an old liberal getting his ass kicked....

(last time we spoke he went off about 'gut shooting hunters' and how wolves are better, blah blah blah...and I damn near lit him up in my folk's kitchen...)

Just cut hay a little while longer and there is still peace in the family.

And FWIW, my wife is a conservative compared to these self righteous tards.
Politics is the least argued topic in my house.....
